He may not be a 5 star recruit but Majerus lands another big guy for SLU.

BigSky?
He's in the john "applying some hair gel." (lame something about Mary reference)
I think Kwamain will speak loudly out of the three recruits...
Nothing on his wingspan or deflection totals?
Majerus has signed 5 recruits for 2008 class with one to go.(I believe)
Brett Thompson(S Illinois/STL region)
Willie Reed(K.C.)
Femi John(STL)
Kwamain Mitchell(Milly-Wau-Kay)
Brian Conklin(Oregon)
and a preffered walk on Paul Eckerle,(STL) local high school star who is preferred walk-on...may get athletic scholarship, already has academic one.
His number one 2009 target and some of his 2010 targets played in the Milwaukee event this past weekend(all are St. Louis kids) and Rick was there with Porter Moser to watch all of their Friday games as well as all of Kwamain Mitchell's games. At one point Mitchell was supposed to go head to head with fellow SLU recruit Femi John from St. Louis Gateway in 17's....but Femi John didn't play and Mitchell played well against the others.(SIU commit Anthony Booker, also played in that one, John's high school teammate). Mitchell gets better all the time. Very solid. Could tweak that jumper slightly with right shoulder, but great rotation, and can knock down 3's. He will start at point guard early and often.Best part of K Mitchell has been his increased aggressiveness past 6 months. He can get to the rim, not flashy, good athleticism, but not freakish, smart player. Very good, not great, but very solid, few mistakes, keeps getting better. Easily would have gotten higher offers after the summer, diamond in the rough. Not as good of an athlete as Lacy or Lucious, but pretty good and plays hard all the time, with strength.
Top Majerus 2009 target Tyler Griffey plays up in 17's, but played in 16's playoff bracket game v Playground Warriors(Johnnie Lacy, Jamil Wilson) and Gateway won on a 3 with a couple of seconds left in semifinals. Griffey can go wherever he wants, KU, Florida, Mizzou, Illinois, in on him early and often etc...but I can tell you, SLU has a very good and realistic shot at him.
The local city kids like Majerus, and any big kid likes his repuation developing big kids. Griffey is 6'8.
3 of the recruits were high school state champions already. Femi John's uncle was a former professional soccer player, popular in St. Louis, and his cousin a former SLU soccer star, plays for the KC Wizards of MLS.
Scott Suggs(STL) was/has been a big target and been on campus several times, and put SLU back in his mix,(with the coaching change) but he can go many places that he wants and hasn't made up his mind yet. SLU would be a longer shot for him but still in his list of 7-10 or so places. Matt Roth has also been offered and is down to SLU and 1-2 others.
Rick is having a lot of fun so far.
Alex Jensen has joined the staff, to get his start learning. Sean Harrington(former illinois guard) will be video guy, and the 3rd assistant after Moser and Thorpe will be announced shortly.
