Title: Marquette Madness
Post by: 6Under20 on September 27, 2012, 10:58:46 AM
Never been to Marquette Madness and I was thinking about going this year and have a few questions.  Is there tickets?  Is it hard to get in?  Will my 8 year old (who loves MU basketball) enjoy it?

Thanks for any help.

I think the Halloween scrimmage might be a better option for you.

It doesn't have the dunk contest/3pt contest... but it's a good environment for kids and the basketball is good (not a lot of waiting around like a MM).

Plus, there are lots of chances for pictures/autographs if you want.

No tickets.  If you get there early enough you will get a free t-shirt.

Haunted Hoops would be a much better option though.  They have a costume parade and other stuff for the kids to do.

I took my son to Madness when he was around 8 or 9 and he really liked it, even though we were kinda late and didn't even get seats--we were standing at one end.  Got photos of him with DJ and Jerel afterwards.  Kids love the dunk contest.  Take him to both MM and HH.

Thanks guys!  Unfortunately I won't be in town for Haunted Hoops, that sounds like a fun event for the kids.

How early is early to get to Madness to be sure to get in?  I'm thinking of taking my 16 year old son.

Getting in usually isn't difficult, getting a shirt might be.

I want to say 7-ish. The Fish Fry is immediately before Haunted Hoops.

Madness is cool for about 5 minutes when they play the video and introduce the players. After that it is pretty boring. Last year was awesome with the NBA guys but that is not going to happen again.

It can't be true or false. It's a question.

This guy once starred during Marquette Madness.

Now he stars for the Blazers.

Gonna get there 3 hours early again like last year. Was right behind one of the benches with Novak, Wes and Lazar. Pretty cool.
