Simeon coach said that Taylor at MU could work to the school's "advantage" in hopes of landing Nunn.

sweet ;D
Hope it proves prophetic. I really feel that if he gets to Madness uncommitted, he will pick Marquette.
These little nuggets have been dropping all summer. Nunn likes how fast MU plays...Nunn's Dad loves MU...now having Taylor at MU is an advantage. At the end of the day, Nunn is still waiting to hear from Kentucky, UNC, UCLA. If that doesn't happen (and it won't)...then Nunn will probably end up at OSU or Illinois (the "biggest" schools on his list).

Source?
Probably shouldn't screw it up by handing out a tee shirt or giving him a ride back to Chicago.

Nunn has already heard and has an offer from UCLA. They are on his list of 5 schools. I think if Kentucky comes in, he would listen. I think anyone else who might come in would have done so already. At this point, I think he either commits during the visit to UCLA or Ohio State, or he commits at Madness. If he makes it to Marquette uncommitted, it's because we've been consistently in on him the longest, he's familiar with the staff and players, and his advisers have sufficiently nudged him in this direction.

So, this is just someone close to Nunn acknowledging something we all figured out on our own?
Having just read the article, I find it interesting that no one mentions this sentence, "Multiple sources expected Nunn to commit to Marquette this summer, but Smith said he does not think an announcement is imminent."
Funny how we're ready to be optimistic when the article says that Taylor's presence could be a plus, but it's easy to ignore a statement that could be interpreted (could be) in a negative way. As in, "he hasn't yet committed to Marquette, so something must be wrong."

Yeah, I was just about to mention it.
The one thing that makes me feel good about this statement is that he has said that he felt he made a mistake by committing to A&M so early, and wanted to go through the entire process before making a decision this go around.

Actually, Mug, some have said that because Nunn has yet to commit to MU (despite signs/rumors that he's a Marquette "lean") it's likely we've been reduced to his "safety" school. I have no idea, but the fact that we're still recruiting multiple other players at the 2 means at least that it's no lock.
I certainly hope Buzz would have a back up plan. Also, the back up plan could end up being the better player.

Good point, and essentially what I was pointing out. The article really was a 'both ways' kind of thing, seemingly indicating that we could've/should've signed him earlier, but haven't, yet are also in good position because of Taylor.
Recruiting can be an on-again, off-again thing (and Nunn's prior commitment to A&M demonstrates that), but us readers can too often look at an article like this and take what we want, rather than what might actually be there.
We can talk all we want, but there is no clear indication, publicly, about where MU stands with Nunn. Time will tell.

At the end of the day, he'll take one day at a time, work through the process, it is what it is...
Thanks for the input, great logic.

What's your problem??? You don't like that I expressed my opinion on a message board? Too bad.
Let's try this again—and I'll speak slowly so you can understand. We've seen plenty of instances when a top recruit (or their handlers) says nice things about MU. It all sounds encouraging...yet that player never commits to MU. I see that same scenario playing out again.
That wasn't too hard to follow, was it?

unless your duke, NC, or kentucky...i'm thinking that's how it plays out for a lot of schools, obviously less for some and more for others...
the fact that you stated he'd be at UCLA if he heard from them (which you stated he wouldn't) and in fact he has heard from UCLA and hasn't yet committed makes me question your logic.
I think any recruit would love to say they had an offer from Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke or UCLA. However, that does not mean they want to be non-rotation player or risk being over recruited with multiple McDonald all-americans. In the end the offer means a player has a choice, it is up to the player to decide if that is the best choice.

Nunn is visiting UCLA, but my spies tell me hasn't received a formal offer. I'm told it's more Nunn pursuing UCLA than UCLA pursuing Nunn.

Contrary to what Brew says above.....what say ye Brew? Does he or doesn't he have an offer from UCLA?

So is it an unofficial visit to UCLA then? There's no way they're paying for a Chicago kid to fly to Los Angeles and shack him up for a few days if they haven't even offered him. I'm going to guess UCLA has offered.

Kendrick Nunn's profiles on Scout, Rivals, and ESPN all list UCLA as having offered. I suppose they could all be wrong, but as strotty said, I can't see any way they are flying him out with no intent of taking a commitment if he's ready to give it.

I doubt this would happen with Nunn as he seems like a good kid, but there have been many instances where kids have wanted to commit to schools on their visits and the schools either turned them down or slow played them holding out hope for another player even though they'd been offered prior to the visit. Some kids don't fit well with the program and that doesn't come out until the player visits the school.
