The Marquette University men's basketball team will open its 2012-13 campaign in historic fashion when it faces Ohio State on the USS Yorktown on Nov. 9 in the Carrier Classic, presented by the Morale Entertainment Foundation, Inc.

Is it just me, or is anybody else waiting for winter to get here?!

Winter sucks. MU basketball and hockey season are the only two things that make almost palatable.
Oh, OK ... opening Christmas presents is pretty cool, too.

I'm fine with the cold and college basketball!! ;)
What channel is the game on?
I have been thinking (dreaming) about going to this game and reached out to the Carrier Classic Facebook page to get more information on tickets for the general public. Here was the response...
"Current plan is that approximately 500 tickets will be available for purchase by the general public. Price is expected to be about $500 per ticket, with each ticket good for both the men's and women's games. These numbers still need to be finalized and confirmed, which should occur in early September."
Anyone else surprise by that price? I could add another season ticket to my package and it would still be cheaper.
Simple supply and demand. If there are only 500 general public tickets they can afford to raise the price to that level because they'll probably still sell out of that few of a number.
Honestly I think that's pretty cheap. There are some high rollers out there competing for these tickets and there isn't many to go around.
OSU alone could probably sell all 500 tickets @ $500, but between MU, OSU & ND WBB fans, there will be more than enough demand at that price point.
