I keep seeing the word 'major' being used when people make fun of the announcement today.
Who said/wrote it was a 'major' press conference and did anyone affiliated with MU use that term?

I heard the term "major" only after the press conference.
As in, "What kind of a major <insert expletive here> is so desperate for attention that he calls the media when he makes charitable contributions?"
Here's where I saw it (http://marquettebasketball.blogspot.com/2007/06/mu-to-hold-press-conference-today.html)
he should donate the money from this month's site to the stadium. The guy said their would be a handful of items discussed. He either doesn't know anything or will not share info...But I know he will take your money for his site.
The "major" thing originated from here:
http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?S=415#S=415&F=2850&T=665147
I assume that was from an email.
So, no one from MU termed this as a "major" announcement rather it was simply posters on an internet site?
I believe that post from Dodds was from a PR release email. -- There's no reason he'd insert that text, but who knows.
