Anyone have any feedback from their trips to the AL this week? Marq hasn't updated the list of seats available since Sunday. We pick Friday and are just praying something is left in the lower bowl. Reports from prior posts indicate the selection is worse than 2 years ago.
I went Sunday at 6:08 and I think the last appointment was at 7 so this is farily up to date info. I think the times for each person were 4 minutes apart and I dind't hear of anyone with the same time so there were proabaly only 12 people or a max of 48 tickets afer me.
The corner sections in the lower bowl were about 60-70% taken and the sections behind the basket were 20% full (only the sections off the main floor 101-102 I beleive were full). All of the sections on the side were full except for a few sporadic single seats. I improved my percentage by about 5% and I got the exact same seats, 10 rows behind the MU basket.
I would think on Friday you will still be able to get seats in the lower bowl.
I'm very nervous .. I'd feel lucky if I got my old seats back. So far, mine haven't been taken.
Sure hope they update the webpage tonight .. it's 3 days old.

The reason the list has not been updated is that there have not been any reseating appointments this week. The next appointment is tomarrow at 12:00 PM. I have a 3:37 appointment and will be crossing my fingers and praying to my bobbleheads for at least my same seats.
If you are selecting tomorrow you should be just fine for lower bowl seating. A lot of those rows available have upwards of 7 to 12 seats. Certainly the early part of the day is fine.
I chopped up the listing from the website .. got rid of all the single seats .. added a column of how many seats were there .. added labels.
I wish this thing would do fix font, then the columns would line up.
The other coulms are type of seat (corner, side, end zone) .. and distance from center, the end zone being the worst seat. This was in an effort to take a giant guess at where seats go by time .. the theory going, that people will fill up the sides, then the corner, then the end-zone. Of course, I know this not to be correct, as some people would rather sit low in the end-zone than high in the corner. Take it for what it is.
THen .. the last column represents time .. I heard each appointment is 4 minutes .. that's 15 an hour. Figure Most people take 2 tickets, a few take more, so I went with 35 tickets/hour, then sorted by "distance from center" and took a guess at when each row would be gone.
It's pretty bogus, but it's a guide for today's appointments.

Total Seats in Lower Bowl 1202
A recommendation:
If you end up in the upper bowl, Section 400 row D seats 2 and 3 are very nice. Rows A, B and C aren't as good as you'd expect, since the railing blocks the view. There is no seat #1 in row D, which is taken by a jog in the aisle. I personally think if you have to be in the upper bowl, those are the seats you want.
I think the upper bowl is VASTLY underrated.
I'd rather be in the seats you just described than in one of the end zones.

I agree with you from a pure "game watching" point of view. But the upper bowl certainly has a different atmosphere--darker, way less crowd noise/interaction, and too many pre-teen kids running back and forth to the concession stands. Plus, you will hardly ever score a free T-shirt.
Yup. The upper deck is fine for watching the game, but there are many more reasons that draw people to the BC. I spent a year upstairs, and I personally hated it. That's just me, though.
Personally, if I couldn't buy lowers, I wouldn't buy tickets. You'd come out ahead deciding to miss 5-8 games (ooc cupcakes), then scalping lowers for each game. Heck, you'd probably have better seats that way, too.
Well, I'm back .. our old seats were taken today .. we're now basically one full section worse than we were before. ugh.
I'm really torn about this .. on the one hand, I want better seats, and don't want to get slowly pushed out every 2 years. So I have to give. Fortunately, I can.
But on the other hand, I'm painfully torn. In order to materially improve, you really need 4 figure donations.
The issue is, I have a handful of other charities that are, quite frankly, tenfold more worthy. They deal with diseases, the poor, and educating the young and the like. I could step up my donations to MU, but it'd be the most guilty donations I've ever made.
And yeah, I get it. It's a choice each person has to make. It's ironic, though, that a MU/Jesuit education probably tries to lead you to spending your resources on the downtrodden first and foremost ..

Here's what you do. Give as much as you can to improve your seats. Then donate the best game of the season to one of those other charities, assuming they have some sort of charity auction. They make money on your donation, you help more than you maybe could otherwise, and while you are watching the game at home or in a sports bar you will feel good about what you did, even if you donate anonymously to that charity.
