Paul Wollersheim, who led Whitefish Bay Dominican to three state championships, has resigned as boys basketball coach and athletic director at the school.
Wollersheim announced his resignation Friday morning on "The Bill Michaels Show" on WSSP (1250-AM).
The Milwaukee County district attorney this week declined to issue charges against Wollersheim, who had been arrested May 25 by Whitefish Bay police after a female teacher at the school accused him of sexual assault.
He had been placed on leave by the school.
He issued the following statement Friday:
"It is with some sadness that I have resigned my duties at Dominican High School. For the past 20+ years I have worked with amazing kids, parents and colleagues - they energized me on a daily basis.
"The recent false allegations against me have been a nightmare for me and my family. More than anything, it has helped me understand what's most important in my life. My wife and family have been amazing throughout this ordeal as have many of my closest friends - without that support, I am not sure I would have found the strength in myself to get through this situation.
"It now seems clearer than ever that it is time for me to move on from Dominican. As my family demands over the past two years have grown - so too have my responsibilities at Dominican - I don't think the Lord could be any more direct with me that the focus and priority of my life should go in the direction of my family and I look forward to the joy and challenges that brings.
"My memories of Dominican will always be special - no one can take that away. This past basketball season was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding seasons of my coaching career. My players, parents and assistant coaches over the past 20 years have been an inspiration to me and I hope to continue those relationships for the rest of my life."
Wonder how this affects Diamond Stone in the long run....? Potential transfer ( ala prep school )...?
Not good. The one angle we had with Diamond (Duane Wilson) is now in jeopardy. That leaves the Badger sweatshirt and Red and Black clothes a clear advantage for Bucky.

If Stone ends up at UW-Madison I will eat my shoes and yours.

Gump-ism #67: Don't make a shoe-eating bet with someone who constantly steps in "it."
i know nothing about this coach or buzz' relationship with him, but my initial thought is we had a connection to the school's coach that was good enough to land duane, and that is no longer there. i think chew should go coach at dominican for the next few years...just long enough to convince looney and stone to stay in the mill.

Can I hear amen, somebody?

What does the WFB Dom coach resigning have to do with Looney?
wow, all this about a coach and his potentials, but nothing about the lives that will be forever changed. i know the d.a. isn't charging, but something doesn't smell right here. i guess when your good and popular just as a player, now at even the high school level gets you a huge benenfit of the doubt. unless the broad just totally made this story up, something happened here. hate to see wolf cried too often though

so you're saying the woman either made it up, or the man is getting the benefit of the doubt...i didn't think that needed to be posted to be obvious. all while referring to the woman as a broad...

1. Two DA's reviewed the case and chose to not file charges
2. Wollershiem has "delivered" students to UWGB, Madison, Loyola, Chicago State, SLU and now Marquette.
3. HS coaches are just 1 part of the equation in getting a kid and sadly that part is getting smaller every day.
