Title: Looking at 2014
Post by: jonny09 on July 12, 2012, 08:44:34 PM
Just looking at the class I would say Buzz needs to put a ton of energy into Kevon Looney (Obviously).  However, I would really like to see us land Paul White out of Whitney Young as well.  That would be a huge recruiting class.  I like his size and shooting more than I like Lyle.  Call me crazy....Plus, I think White would be more likely to end up at MU than Lyle.  Thoughts

Looney is going to be a tough get because he is open to going away to school and he likes the blue bloods. However, it seems like were in good position right now and Buzz has been recruiting him extremely hard.

Paul White is a guy who could very likely wind up at Marquette. With the addition of Issac Chew this becomes even more possible. He has visited MU and Buzz really wants to make his presence known in Chicago.

Paul White would be a super addition. I get the feeling that once the elites start showing Looney (and Stone) serious love...it's goodbye Dairy State. UNC, Duke, and Kentucky will be tough to turn down. MU will be fine. I never see any players as a "must get."

He'd be tough to move in the paint, that's for sure.

That was one of the best 'mixtape' videos I have seen.  It showed all parts of his game.  3's, pull up midrange, dunks, great ball handling...

I hate videos that are just a kid dunking 40 times.

Paul White played at the Baylor  D1 Elite Tournament this past week-end with 17U Meanstreets in Wisconsin.  They won the championship game against Mac Irvin Fire 68 to 60.  Both Buzz and Chew were there watching.

Here is what The Examiner has a short write up describing Paul, "The Big Show" Wight's basketball career:

""Wight attended Wyman King Academy in Batesburg, SC on a basketball scholarship and was heavily recruited by the University of South Carolina. Unfortunately his grades weren't up to par so he enrolled in Northern Oklahoma Junior College and was an all-conference selection in 1990. Following one successful year at the JUCO level, he transferred to WSU to play for head coach Mike Cohen.

Cohen praised Wight's, "good passing ability" and the future Big Show averaged 2.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in 1991, while becoming a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. After Coach Cohen's contract was not renewed for the following season, Wight moved on to Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville for the 1992 and 1993 campaigns, seeing little action and scoring just 39 points over the two year span.""

Don't watch the Damarcus Croaker video then.
