Dwight had a tremendous game today against the Nets. Hit big shots and made terrific passes. Ended up with 22 points and 5 assists. Hit the winning basket by taking Tyshawn Taylor one on one, spinning, and draining a fade-away jumper. Hopefully some team signs him because he looks like he has improved immensely.
How many turnovers did he have? Let the betting begin at +/- 5
Still something he has to improve on but the guy can score. He completely took over the game today.

I would have never thought that Dwight Buycks was an NBA prospect... he must have really turned some heads at some point in a summer league. With that said, I'll definitely be rooting for him. He's a hard worker and a gamer.

We're not allowed to discuss flaws of former players now? I too wish Dwight the best, but he frustrated the heck out of me at times while he was playing for us and I would be shocked if he found his way onto an NBA roster.

Cynically enough -- and points scored aside -- turnovers is the first stat I've been checking in his summer league games. Buycks has to button down his handle if he wants to make the NBA.

That's a perfectly valid topic of discussion. Many have made similar points about McNeal and DJO. But maybe discuss it without taking a mocking or sneering tone about a guy who played his heart out for us and represented us well.

Ehh, maybe avoid assuming everything has to be taken so seriously. Dwight's always had a problem with turnovers, I wasn't exactly taking a big risk there. I fail to see how I diminished him or his time at Marquette in any way.
Just because someone points out a current or past players flaw(s) doesn't make them a "hater" Some people choose to provide facts without having the blinders on. I agree with them.

Crean, most likely, used his connections to get him into the Association.

IMO, criticizing our former player is classless and shows a lack of appreciation for his contributions.
Just watched the game and at first didn't recognize him. No dreads and he has put on muscle.
Nice game for him, got the post game interview and good for his cause. Many scouts in attendance at the game from other teams, so he maybe if he doesn't pan out with OKC, another will give him a shot.
Agree with others though, it will be tough for him with the turnovers. There are numerous scorers at the guard position out there.
Sorry for not knowing this...... Where/how do you watch these games?

Agree. Buycks appears to be working his butt off trying to fulfill a dream, and is closer to it than many get..just by being able to get to the Summer League/NBDL. Dwight seemed like a good guy during his time at MU and deserves our support...not snide remarks...IMO.

The bigger number for buycks is assists. It was his 23 point, 0 assist game last year that made teams decide he just couldn't play point. People dissed Westbrook all year for the turnovers but at the end of the year his overall game had him voted one of the top 10 players in the league. The spurs are the perfect opportunity for buycks - if he can battle westbrook for a physical 10 minutes every playoff game they can live with turnovers.
Good luck Dwight! And if MU has 8 players in the NBA next year we will certainly be elite, and surpassing the 1970s players.

Mr. Buycks mentions turnovers as an area needing improvement in his game, he didn't mention anything about Hiroshima doh
Some player reviews to satisfy ATWizJr:
**Some say that Dominic James was too short and didn't have enough of an outside shot to play in the NBA...I say that he was playing in Europe because of a desire to travel the world!
**Some say that Lazar is too undersized to make significant contributions in the NBA...I say that based upon his Game 5 performance in the Finals, that he should have seen more action than he did.
**Some say that Jerel was irresponsible for getting kicked out of the Belgian League for smoking pot...I say that he simply got mixed up between Belgium and the Netherlands. Hell, that mistake happens all of the time!!!
This is fun!

Hey, as long the "some" are third parties and not MU fans who should be supporting those who played their butts off for their alma mater, I have no argument with them.

Watching the video interview/highlights on the NBA TV clip, did notice that all of Buycks good stuff was going to his left as he did at MU ( remember that Notre Dame game at the BC ). Dwight really needs to work on going to his right to get to the NBA...?

Is the below type of question not a little different than debating/comparing two players games - as I did in the Vander/Mayo discussion?
What's the over/under on Vander's 3 point shooting percentage? Over under set at 18%...And then if I replied: - Umm...I'll take the Under....is that not a little more snide than discussing a player's strengths/weaknesses, etc.?
