Projecting the MU 2012/13 Starting Lineup
http://goldeneagleexchange.wordpress.com/2012/07/01/projecting-the-mu-201213-starting-lineup/
The difference between this years team and last years team is that there going to have to replace 40 Ppg by scoring by committee. This is a very hard thing to do in itself. I think Buzz switches from trying to win in a shoot out to locking down on defense and with this starting lineup, it's going to be hard to score on MU.
Unless Buzz changes his defensive philosophy, which I don't think will occur, they are going to basically do the same thing as before...pressure the ball out at the point and create turnovers. I don't see much change from the last couple of years - hell when they had a backcourt of Acker and Cubillan they did the same thing.
It will be hard to replace Crowder and DJO's production, especially if Mayo isn't back, but Lockett was a HUGE signing...TJ Taylor will provide a spark...and I fully expect Jamil and Vander to take that next step. Will that be enough? Time will tell...
Really nicely done, G.E.E. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to the pro-am to see more on some of our newbies and returnees.

Other big factor(s) will be having a healthly Chris and Davante in the middle.
Great article. Just one question... what's "psychically gifted"?
PF-Jamil Wilson-Most psychically gifted player on Marquette. Full time starter last year. Can score, rebound, block shots, and defend. Really believe that he will breakout this year being able to play his normal position at PF. Will also be asked to play SF at times which will create a huge mismatch for the opposing team.
I commend the author for the effort and the passion, but he does need to tighten up the spelling and grammar.

Correct me if im wrong but I believe it means he has the most raw talent. Being that athletic at 6 7 is being physically gifted. Lebron James is physically gifted.
Great blog GEE, looking forward to future entries.

He was commenting on the misspelling of "physichally" (should be physically).
Imagine if he and Vander both took off this year and utilized all of their talents. That would be some amazing thing to watch.
I'm really sorry about the spelling mistakes. I can see how it is hard to take a blog seriously when there are mistakes like that. Ill be sure to proofread and spell check numerous times before posting on the blog again. Looking past some of those mistakes, I hope you enjoyed the read and are ok with me posting future blog entries on this site. I have some good ideas for the future of the Golden Eagle Exchange such as pro am updates, history behind the UW vs MU rivalry, etc. Thanks.
Reading that Blog, makes me really hope that Mayo is back. Without Mayo back, we will need another scorer/guard off the bench.
The starting 5 looks really solid.
Bench: TJ should be ready to contribute and give some offense. He should be able to provide time at the 2 and maybe the 1.
But, other than TJ, who else will play the 1 or 2 or even the 3 and give offense: Anderson is a question in my mind at the 4 and he is not a 2, DW at point guard for defense is ok, but zero offense, and Ferguson may not be ready just yet to be a big time contributor.
Mayo could be a really important player if we are going to have depth at the 1-3 spots. Yikes. I hope he is able to play this year.
Could someone clearly tell me what the whole mayo situation is? That topic was just abunch of arguing.

He's suspended. Rumor is for academic reasons.
You know these are good times for MU basketball when another blog about it gets started. Good luck!
GoldenEagleExchange, just giving you a hard time. Love the blog idea and can't wait to see the future updates. Keep up the good work.

Indefinitely. Buzz will decide if/when time is right to lift it.
Most of this I like and again I agree with a lot of what others have been saying in terms of making up for the production lost with DJO and Crowder, but I will add that Cadougan needs to protect the basketball like it's his newborn child. If he is going to be running the offense, he absolutely cannot have the stretches of terrible decision making that he had at times last year. Also, I hope Otule continues to improve on securing rebounds as he returns this fall. But heck yeah, I am excited! Looks like another tournament team to me. 8-)
