Title: Will Otule Hold The Record?
Post by: Tugg Speedman on June 29, 2012, 04:21:19 PM
Assuming that Jae and DJO both make their respective teams, Otule will have played with five MU players that saw action in the association.

Wes, Lazar, JFB, Jae and DJO.

Further, it is possible their are more players on our roster that might log time in the association (how about Otule?).

Question, has any other MU player played with five other teammates that made the association?  Did it happen in the 1970s?

You can add Jerel to the list if you want to count players who were signed to NBA contracts and suited up for their teams, even though he never logged any NBA minutes.

And it's Otule, not Outle.

I want to say Bo Ellis.

Lucas
Tatum
Walton
Whitehead
Lee
Toone
Allie
Washington (drafted but didn't play)

Also, Novak was pretty close:
Wade
Diener
Wes
Jerel (he was signed but saw no action)
Merritt (played NBADL - lol)

BTW, does Tyshawn Taylor count? ;)
Let's not forget Mbakwe may also count in the future!

You could add a 6th player to Otule if you count Buycks in the D League

Otule could get Mbakwe, as you mentioned, but could also end up with guys like Blue, Jamil, and anyone else on the current team. If he's here two more years, who knows how good Milwaukee's Best might end up being, and they could play with Otule as well. He could hit double-digits in this regard.

wasn't Butrym around from '73-77 ?

That would put him with McNeill, Allie, Lucas, Tatum, Walton, Ellis, Butch, Whitehead and Toone.

Shoot. If that happens (two more years), he'd do something no other MU player has done: play almost a decade! Lol

Evan Eschmeyer barely saw the court in the NBA before drifting away forever, and he was a college stud by the time he graduated. If Dwight Burke can play overseas, so can Otule, but he's not even close to NBA material.

Would Otule be our first ever 6 year player? I cannot remember one.

I'm guessing he will also shatter the all-time wins and games record.
