Williams suspends Mayo

Sounds like Enlund is again late to the party, if the suspension is already sorted.
This news is shocking. :o :o :o :o
Came out of nowhere. Thankfully, Enlund is there to guide us through the fog.
Well, at least now we have a "source".

Again, who said the suspension was already sorted? Mark Miller said "eligible." Junior Cadougan was eligible against Wisconsin. DJO was eligible against West Virginia in the first half. It's a suspension.

Doubtful...grades due 7/3...listen to Strotty. Posted at 4:05 by Enlund on a Friday "after the markets" close....with direct quotes from Buzz.

And so, Williams will decide when the time is right for Mayo's suspension to be lifted?"
"That's correct," said Williams.
Interesting. If it is strictly grades, I doubt it is Buzz's decision - but possibly I suppose.
Judging by his comments, I doubt that the conversation lasted long. Seems like Buzz gave some pretty short answers and just wanted it over with. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but his comments seem like he was pretty short with Enlund. You can't really blame him after the Sweet Sixteen send-off.
Hopefully this affects Mayo the way it did Acker. Suspend him for the summer, then he comes back and has a career year.
I love Buzz's style with things like this. Demonstrates his loyalty to the players to not share anything about stuff like this beyond what is absolutely necessary.
Where's Rosiak?

Where's Rosiak?
Covering the Brewers and living in he dreams of scoopers everywhere.
Just remember that Buzz cannot say if it is academics.

Based on Marquette's PR practices lately, he would have been given the information at the exact same time Enlund got it. Friday afternoon at 4:15 is par for the course of late. And I still applaud it.
And agreed on what strotty said...my impression, however, is that the suspension will have little real implications on Mayo's career here, if his grades are indeed sorted out already.

Keep in mind that Enlund is an actual journalist and can't just make JSOnline entries based on rumors like so many bloggers, "Tweeters" and message board posters can do. Besides, I'd be willing to bet that 95% of the MU fans who read Enlund's blog on the topic first learned about it right then and there.
Dan Patrick would often talk about how ESPN required 2 sources before a story could go on the air. At one point, he heard from Jon Gruden's agent (I believe it was Gruden but may have been a different coach) saying that Gruden was leaving Oakland to coach the Buccaneers but DP couldn't take it on the air until they got a second source...so the agent handed the phone to Gruden who confirm the news as the second "source."
This does not have to do with academics. It has to deal with something worse than that. It is not as bad as the incident that took place last year but it is worse than academic. Now, let the speculation begin.

Only if I can use you as a source.
WTF, you make a cryptic post about some "worse than academic" reason for the suspension then say "Now, let the speculation begin", with some holier than thou attitude when
you are the douche who is
the source on which any future speculation will rely.
I know when I'm being setup.

Cheebs - what "sweet sixteen send off" are you referring to?
Mayo pooped in a bag, lit it on fire and rang Pilarz's door bell while smoking a joint.
When the urinal broke the non-story about MU players in a bar the day before the Sweet 16!

This is what i believe has happened. I apologize for being cryptic but disclosing information of such nature could jeopardize people's careers.

They didn't even break it that day. They ran it like a week or two before. Then they re-ran it and re-ran it.... till the boy's plane touched down in Louisville.
I'm pretty sure it was broken either that day or the night before. Either way, there was a ton of media there for the sendoff and Buzz was pretty upset because they were all asking about the incident, even after he made his statement and said he wasn't going into any more detail.

so why post anything if it could lead to ruining someone's career. funny thing, anytime i've known something that could ruin someone's career, that person is the only one i discussed it with.
