What a start to the draft. Kentucky players go one and two. Talk about adding on to what that does for Kentucky recruiting. Like they need it.
I'm surprised Charlotte didn't move the pick after all that speculation.
Cal is an incredible slimeball. "Hug mom, hug dad, then you hug me and spin around so the camera can see my face." Wow. At least be a LITTLE discreet about it.
Steve Taylor is the next Thomas Robinson, right?
...right!?

For good reason. Him above Thomas Robinson and Harrison Barnes? That's horrible.
Love how 2 of Drummond's highlights were over Truck Bryant.
Portland drafts Lillard for the point and Meyers Leonard at center. Biggest needs for them, and should help Wes.

i thought they might go royce white. Henson seems a bit repetitive with midsize-tall 4s who are known more for their defense than offense.
Has about the same wingspan as Anthony Davis. Kid can be really good if he has the right attitude and plays hard all the time.
Great defensive player. Like the pick.
Zeller about to be traded to the Cavs.
Mavs will get 24, 33 and 34th picks from Cavs.
Henson is a terrible pick...he might be ok, but he'll never see the court with 5 guys in front of him. Typical Bucks pick.

With that backcourt, there won't be shots (cue lil Jon and LMFAO!) To be had in the frontcourt...
Jeeez, Celtics take Sullinger who has a bad back, then Fab Melo who is a head case. Two risk/rewards right in a row.
Ok, I have a really dumb and simplistic question about the draft.
There have been a number of Big East players drafted so far. None of the picks (as of 8:50pm) include the BE POY. You would think that the POY of a top league would be picked before most of the other players from their respective leagues.
I know that my premise is not perfect, but.......?
I recognize that some teams pick based on position need, which accounts for some of this.

How many times have you heard the word UPSIDE this broadcast? There's your answer. Don't worry, Jae will prove them all wrong. Just another chip on his shoulder to motivate him.

The draft is about potential and position. The BE players chosen were underclassman with more potential than a senior, or 7 feet tall (Drummond and Melo) which the BE POY is not.

Not a Henson fan as a lottery pick. He's a nice player but I don't see him being any more than a solid contributor as the best-case and Branden Wright as worst-case. The Bucks need more than that. Right now, they seem to be collecting players who could potentially be the third or fourth best player on a championship team but no one who you can really build around.
Not sure a centerpiece player for a championship team is often available at 14.
Henson was the best player available imo and gives the Bucks flexibility for a trade.
Henson's a good version of Larry Sanders. Sanders and Udoh or Gooden could get you a solid wing or guard.

i thought they were going to take perry jones and just go injury potential crazy --- and i actually would have liked that
Going to be easy to keep on hating the Celtics when they take Sullinger and Melo.
Tony Wroten is a okay point guard, but not a first round pick.
Larry Bird loves white guys.
thought Larry Bird quit.
Miami is trading this pick to Sixers.
Plumlee had to be the worst pick so far.
Can't believe Perry Jones fell this far and the Heat passed on him. Dreaming of him making it one more pick to Chicago.
EDIT: There goes Jones, amazing pick for OKC. Just saw Crowder pop in on Bilas' top-10 available.
Jae is now on Bilas' top 10 remaining list.

I've heard that, god I hope not. Why draft a backup with such high upside guys still on the board? Quincy Miller, Will Barton, and Doron Lamb are all better fits than a backup.

You're right but the Bucks continue to pick in that 8-15 range where it's hard to find anything more than a "solid contributor." If they want to win consistently and actually have a chance to contend (and draw some fans), they need to make a big move to try to grab a high draft pick. Think Portland would have listened to an offer of Brandon Jennings and #14 for #6, #11? I do. Not saying that they would have gotten a HOFer in those spots but they need to do something to get out of NBA purgatory.
Better pick than Taylor, not nearly the best pick they could have made. Like Bilas said, needs to work on PG skills and shooting. That doesn't scream first round to me.
So who does Golden state take in the Marquette slot? DJO or Jae?

Kind of blah on Teague. Would have preferred Lamb or Barton.
Dang
Did someone forget to tell Golden State they have to take a Marquette guy, not just a guy that played a game AT Marquette?
If you go on Twitter you can find out who will be drafted about three minutes before it happens.
You can also see trades a half hour before ESPN mentions them.

@WojYahooNBA will tell you all
Jae Crowder about to be picked by the Mavs (pick from Cavs)
crowder to mavs per chad ford.
Awesome story for B. James
Crowder to Dallas!!!!
Jae!!!!!!!!!!!
bodes well for Jae that Dallas wanted him and Bernard James. Shows a real commitment to high character, hustle type defenders. From a playing time standpoint, I think this is probably as good a destination as any. If we've learned anything, its that if you dont go in the first, you just want to go somewhere you can have a legitimate shot to get on the court.
I love Jae, but am shocked he went ahead of Quincy Miller and Will Barton. This is a really deep draft.
Hell yeah Jae! 4 picks too late, but I'll take it!
/Kevin Jones still on the board

Lots of potential for PT in Dallas for Jae.
SG/SF on roster
Shawn Marion (2yrs remaining on contract)
Vince Carter (team opt)
Delonte West (UFA)
Dominique Jones (1yr + team opt)
Kelenna Azubuike (team opt)

Cuban just completely robbed the Cavs; hilarious. Jae and James are very solid players to add to an already good team. We'll see the Cavs back in the lottery next year.
Dallas still has one pick left. That would mean three picks to fight for spots on squad next year. Dallas must have saw something in Jae that they liked to have him selected above Barton, Miller, Taylor, Green and others. I think he makes it.
Congrats to Jae.
Great pick by Denver. Immense reward and low-risk this late. Quincy Miller could end up one of the 5 best players in this draft.
Hope Wes talked up DJO to the Blazers with these two picks coming up!

Miller should have stayed one more year. He is extremely talented, but needed more refinement. That would have lead him to first round in 2013. Denver got him cheap, very cheap.
Perusing the upcoming picks...
2 for Portland
then Bucks @12 in R2
then Utah and Knicks @17/18 in R2.
All good landing spots for DJO.
Have to root for the Knicks to take DJO. That would make my night.
Portland is trading pick 41 to the Nets.

17 picks left for DJO to find a spot. Go Marquette!
Darius Miller to Hornets
No one left on the board I rate ahead of DJO. Love seeing Kyle O'Quinn ahead of Kevin Jones :D
Gotta be here... Utah / NY
Crap I have a bad feeling about DJO...
Knicks wanted English or DJO. English gone, so ????????

Like to see DJO get drafted, but probably better if he doesn't at this point. Maybe Knicks knew he would not and thats why they didn't select him. Sign him as a free agent.

very happy about this trade. the chances for both jae and djo to make the same team had to be fairly low, so glad to see djo get moved to another shallow team where he could definitely make the squad.
