Wilson’s busy summer is just what he wants
Written by: Mark Strotman
It's been quite a busy summer for future Marquette point guard Duane Wilson, and his schedule won't be getting any lighter moving forward. No matter, though. This is just the way he wants it. After winning a state title with ... Continue reading → (http://painttouches.com/2012/06/20/wilsons-busy-summer-is-just-what-he-wants/)

Awesome read. Fantastic last sentence from, Wilson. Love he and Deonte are recruiting for MU wherever they go. Real excited for the '13 class to come in.
Great stuff, Mark. Duane seems like a young man serious about being the best that he can be. Also comes across as both a leader of and salesman for the program.
"(At Whiz Kids), I was walking around in the MU shorts, and everybody was like, 'That's one of the kids going to Marquette.' At the NBA camp, everyone saw me and Deonte as the Marquette kids," Wilson said. "Everywhere I go, I wear a Marquette T-shirt. We want to start something."
AWESOME!!
That's what a decade plus of building a basketball program to elite standards will get you, some clout. Thank you Fr. Wild!
Quote"Wilson and Burton also had the chance to do some recruiting over the weekend, "tag-teaming" two particular recruits into looking at Marquette further."
I don't suppose we know who these two are?

We do. ;) all I'll say is they are both from the Midwest.
Looney's got to be one. I'll guess the other is a chicago boy. Maybe Thomas Hamilton or shooting real big with Jabari Parker.

Based on his tweet at him, I'll go out on a limb and say Nunn is one of them.

We weren't even on Parker's list of 14, so they probably shouldn't waste their time.

Nunn wasn't at the top 100 camp. He was invited, but he was preoccupied with trying out for and making the USA U17 national team.
Xavier Rathan-Mayes was there, wasn't he?
Great article, Mark. The enthusiasm surrounding this program is infectious. Only good things ahead!
That's the type of players that R truly appreciated, repping his future school and teammates!!! U and Deonte much respect!!!!

Another great article by Strotty....where did you land Mark so we can follow you there?
Wilson sounds like the real deal. He's a very impressive young man. Can't wait to watch him play for MU! Hope he keeps recruiting for us.
Excellent read. I really think Wilson could be one of the best players Marquette has ever had. I know it's early, and most services still have Burton rated ahead of him, but I can't remember having anyone here as driven to succeed as Wilson seems to be. Everywhere he goes, every time he steps on the court, it seems his stock is going up. My guess is if all the recruiting analysts forgot everything they knew from the past three or so years and ranked the 2013 class simply on this past year, Wilson would probably be a top 10-15 player, and right there with Andrew Harrison and Kasey Hill fighting for top PG honors.
I am so excited to see what he can do when he gets here.

Great Read. I'm so excited to see these guys on campus, but I may be more excited for them to recruit people before they come here.

Outstanding. Very well deserved. Will get to follow you in Chitown and when the BE switches to NBC/COMCAST.
How about DU grad's Sarah Kustok's take on the BE and MU in Chicago for a PT piece?

Hellzyes!
If Duane wants to really "start something" at Marquette, he doesn't need to look further than his own high school team... Love that he's shooting up the recruiting ranks and looks to be a player, but if he brings along Stone down the road he goes from being a good signing to being one of the best signings in decades.

If you wanna run with it, go for it... I just threw that together quickly.
Mil Rock Clothing ran a bunch of RUN MKE shirts a couple of years back: http://i.imgur.com/Ss8QO.jpg
Jack Roman is still running them, but just the St. Patty's day special colored ones: http://i.imgur.com/cg84Z.jpg
Just wanted to let you know, again, that this RUN MKE thing was played out years ago.

Thanks for the info. Without it, I wouldn't have known two guys in their basements were making t-shirts.

You must live in the suburbs if you haven't seen them. They're all over the place downtown.

Have lived on the Eastside for 4 years. Haven't seen a single one.
