Duane: http://midwestballers.com/?p=1663
Deonte: http://midwestballers.com/?p=1636
These two are going to be absolute STUDS. I can't think of a mixtape I have seen in the last 4 years of 2 guys with so much potential. These 2 will be a great addition to MU. I love what I see here, I just want those LOI's signed ASAP.

To quote Borat, " Thatsa vera nice."
Awesome highlight reels. Thanks for the share. They are going to be quite the tandem. Imagine if we can land another top talent in 2013. It will be like the three amigos all over again!

McKee and/or Nunn come on down!!!
I haven't been this excited for a tandem to get on campus in years. Great strength at both positions, incredible elevation, and great focus on the defensive side of the ball (Deonte can cover so much ground).
I hope they both dedicate a lot of time their senior year to working on their jump shots.
I can't wait to see their careers evolve...and the best part, is that they're local kids.
I was really impressed by Deonte's court vision and passing, as well as his blocks.
Duane really knows how to create his own shot. The time he spun into the middle of the lane and put a shot up while falling down that was right on the money was awesome.
All we need is Kendrick Nunn...we would for sure have a top 10 recruiting class then
Duane looks to have really picked up his game, his focus and intensity are impressive! Really looking forward to the
next couple of years of MU basketball. Thanks for the mixtapes.
They would each have a shot at serious minutes right now on a defending Sweet 16 team, even as prospective HS Seniors. I know it's merely highlights but Wow.

I'm super excited too but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. I was really impressed by Juan's highlight reel and Jamail's play in high school. That said, I think Duane's play in the eybl tournament was really a big deal in terms of seeing his true potential.
Love both of their games, though they are highlight tapes. Duane always seems to have a plan when he leaves his feet, though in the videos, Burton seemed to play like more of a PG. Would be very interested to see them when the next AAU event is in town.

I wouldn't get too worked up about McKee coming to Marquette with the NCAA raising the requirements for junior college eligibility, but more importantly, Marquette raising standards within the athletic department will have an effect. Not saying it won't happen, but I think the recruiting focus will be different going forward.

For what it's worth, I did hear McKee pulled off a 3.0 GPA this past school year. Not disagreeing with you, but if that's indeed correct, he's the type of JUCO both Marquette and the NCAA really wouldn't have much problem with.

Juan's highlight reel is a bunch of streetball moves, layups, and dunks. What these guys show in these videos is much more complete than that. Vander's highlights got some of us excited, looking back all he did in them was dunk. All he does at MU is dunk because he still can't really shoot. These guys show they can shoot, they can dunk, they can pass, and Deonte is built like a tank already and has the body to be an absolute beast.
Deonte reminds me a lot of Jae. Seems to be the floor general, has no fear, uses his body to his advantage, and plays with competitive fire. Judging solely from these highlights, it looks like he is better than Jae was in terms of attacking the rim, but obviously has a long way to go to even approach the player that Jae was on D. Hopefully he won't have to be our 4 as Jae was, but if he had to, I think he could pull it off without too much of a problem.
I cannot wait for Duane to get on campus. He continues to improve and will keep climbing national player rankings. He doesn't necessarily remind me of anyone in recent years as his ability to blow by defenders, distribute, elevate and finish, and shoot well from distance is a very rare skill set. I think with a little muscle and schooling on defense, he should be big east 1st team (if the big east is still around then) by his senior year.
Duane and Deonte will win the National Championship...with nobody else on the court to help them...

Imagine if Mbwake was on that team. I don't know if the universe could handle it.

I don't know if we watched the same highlight reel then. Yeah, a lot of lay-ups and dunks. Just like every player's highlight reel including Duane's and Deonte's. Granted they're showing all the best plays but Juan's long reel showcased some nice passes, shots, blocks and iso moves to make space and also get to the rack. Just like the other two guys. What, besides the difference in bulk really stands out between them judging based on the highlight reels?
I was responding to the comment about them competing for serious minutes on a sweet-16 team too, which is jumping the gun a quite a bit. I do fully agree that they both seem further along than Juan based on what I have seen and I'm very excited.
That Deonte video has been up for two days and no one has acknowledged how distraught Buzz looks while sitting next to IWB at the 11 second mark.
Clearly Buzz is frustrated and knows he will be pushed out before Burton suits up. Must be where IWB got his info.

He clearly looks conflicted. I don't see how one could conclude anything else.

As conflicted as Truman made the decision to level Hiroshima.
Just stirrin' the pot.

Wilson looks to have a really good left hand.
And for some of the old-timers, Burton kinda reminds me od Dwyne Johnson - I think from the early 80's. Man among boys in HS.

Hopefully, not in the classroom. But, yeah, I can see what you mean.

....and hopefully doesn't x-fer to, what, UW-Parkside? Whitewater?? Oh, the pain when that happened! :-\
