Not if LeBron has any say in it.

You've been jumping to conclusions quite a bit the last 24 hours.  Maybe a deep breath is in order.  Rose out.  MU back to 1930's basketball.  Etc

NBC Miami.

NBC Miami is always on top of the Bulls/76ers series.

EDIT .... I think he might have.  But he did sort of walk off the court.

Yeah he kind of walked but that doesn't mean much. With a torn ACL you can walk fine in a lot of cases. Unsure about MCL though.

Torn ACL per ESPN.  Out for year.

Rose tore his ACL and is out - hope you're not as wrong on MU's possible Hiroshima.

Hate to see that happen to Rose in his prime.

This is the year for D Wade to be a champion again before he gets in his 30's.

Well, in this case they certainly were.

The attack the messenger, or poster, is really getting old on this board (not specifically addressing you, but yours on top of the typical hoop attack is just too much).

The Bulls confirm that Derrick Rose has torn his ACL and is done for the season.

Ugh...what a dismal season. Oh well...they earned the best record largely without him, maybe they'll keep winning, though honestly, I think conference finals is probably the ceiling yet again.

While I am far from a Bulls fan, I hate seeing things like this.  He is a great player and the Bulls were having a great year.  I prefer to see the best play the best at full strength.  Hope he recovers strong.

*screaming obscenities at monitor*

Rose is one of my core players on my fantasy basketball team...

... and the other big part of my core just had back surgery and apparently hates his coach...!

Despite being a 76ers fan I am sad to see it happen.  Especially because I'd like to see the Bulls beat Miami if they meet up again.  Sucks for Rose and the Bulls.

Rose's spotlight went "pop" today, and the NBA fans will miss his presence.

Pretty sure everyone watching said ACL or MCL, way to go out on a limb there. Everyone at Scoop knew CO did the same thing after the LSU game, ya dick.

NBC Miami made a WAG and reported it. Then they retracted the report.

It sucks, but CJ Watson and JL3 have really stepped it up in Rose's absense.  I'm not losing hope.  We still have the best bench in basketball, which goes a long way in the playoffs.

Wade and LeBron can't play 48 minutes every game, especially not deep into the playoffs like the conference finals.  They'll likely sit a large part of the 3rd quarter, which is when the Bulls usually pull ahead of other teams because of their bench depth.  Miami has a horrible bench.

Sure, the Bulls have to get there first, good thing they have the 1 seed.

Don't think the Bulls can beat the Heat in 7 with Derrick Rose let alone without him.

The Bulls couldn't even beat the Heat last year with Rose and without the Heat having Battier (not that he's a game changer, but he's the glue guy they lacked last year).  The Bulls had a chance with Rose, but I would still have put my money on the Heat even if Rose were healthy.  They were the 1 seed last year, too.  No chance they make it to the NBA Final.  If the C's win their first round series, they might not even make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, although I would put my money on Heat over Bulls in 5 in the Conference Finals.

We lost last year, but the biggest problem was Boozer playing like a girl.  He's playing much better this year.

The Bulls beat the Heat without Rose this year.  Twice (once he didn't dress, the other time he played limited minutes because all he did was turn the ball over).

It's all about defense and rebounding, and the Bulls have some of the best personnel for that.  I'll take Noah, Boozer, Gibson, and Asik over any big men the Heat have.

Rose missed 27 games during the regular season and we still had a better record than the Heat (and the rest of the league).

Rip Hamilton is finally starting to catch a groove.  We haven't had him pretty much all season.

It's not gonna be easy, but our guys need to just keep playing like they've been playing and we need Watson and Lucas to sustain their upgraded play.

Btw, who was that hit the game-tying 3-point shot to force OT in a game we ended up winning against the Heat earlier this year (and not because Rose was injured, but becaue our coach had more confidence in him at that time than Rose)?

I'm not sure if you pay much attention to NBA basketball, but if you think the regular season means anything beyond getting into the playoffs, then you don't know much about it.

You can take the Bulls front court over the Heat.  That's fine.  I'm sure the Heat are perfectly happy with Bosh, Wade, and James compared to Boozer, Hamilton, and Deng.

As far as Boozer not playing like a girl compared to last year, Boozer is, has been, and always will be a girl.  Last year he averaged 17.5 ppg on 51% shooting, 9.6 rpg, 2.5 apg, 0.3 bpg, and 2.5 turnovers/game.  This year he averaged 15 ppg on 53% shooting, 8.5 rpg, 0.4 bpg, and 1.7 turnovers/game.  You must put a LOT of weight on the extra 0.1 blocks/game, 0.8 less turnovers/game (from your power forward), and 2% higher shooting percentage to think he's playing better this year than he was last year.

There's reasons for optimism, but I always remember then the Heat are unstoppable when they want to be.

It really is an optimistic look.  I'm just not proclaiming the season over just yet.  Mainly, I just think the Bulls have 4-5 solid guys that can come off the bench and relieve the starters, whereas most other teams only have 2-3 solid bench players.  With this being a shorter, more condensed season, guys are already tired.  The Heat couldn't hang with the Mavs last year in the Finals due to their starters being gassed in the series before.

What rubs me the wrong way is that Rose was sitting up in the skybox during his team's game last night.  Why not sit on the bench and root your team on?

Now I heard he won't be traveling with the team to Philadelphia.  Bogus.

And the RedEye "news"paper today comments on how energized the arena and the team felt when Rose walked on the court during warmups last night.

BS.

Good luck to the Bulls, but what's Rose's deal?

Derrick has no reason to travel to Philly, none.

If he doesn't want to be on the court, so be it. There's no deal.

As for sitting in the booth, this happens in the nfl when players or coaches have injured legs all the time, especially right after the injury.  I'm sure he's got enough problems; he doesn't need a nearly 7 foot, 250 pound man crashing into his leg while sitting helpless on the bench.

As for flying, I'm no doctor, but I'm guessing the pressure and swelling don't mix.  They can't do anything for him until the swelling goes down, flying isn't going to help expedite the process in any way, and if anything will slow it down.

He's the team captain and leader, that's one reason to travel with the team during a playoff series.

Absolutely not.

His only priority is to get the swelling reduced.
