Video of fight was just on Fox 6 from inside and outside the club. Showed a big group of people fighting.
Who cares. A lot of people were fighting no one was given any citations for assault so it does not matter.
DJO was the guy that left and "doubled back". To me it looks like he was removing himself from a situation that he wanted nothing to do with and then came back to make sure all his teammates got out of there too.

Maybe next week they will release high-def video.
Could they drag this non-story out any longer?
This is getting more comical with each news release. I thought there was video of a guy with a bottle going to town on someone (which I think was rumored to be DJO). As noted above, DJO looked pretty calm and left on his own. If he was beating someone with a bottle, likely he's not just strolling out by himself.
The guy interviewed made it sound like he got the worst of it, which was being hit in the eye.

Maybe NBC will get a hold of the recording and they can edit in their own personal touch as is their forte.

I keep thinking about the Simpsons episode where Homer picks the Gummy Venus De Milo of the butt of that one lady and when he is confessing the news start editing his confession to make it sound much worse
Where's the beef?
My feeling is that DJO should be suspended for the next two games.
If Fox-6 paid more than $5 for that video, they got screwed.
it is comical that because they cannot identify any player in the fight they have to show the 6 underage players in their individual photo. I would be pi$$ed if I were one of them and had nothing to do with the fight.
Let it go Milwaukee media stop trying to dig something up that is not there!!
how f*cking lame is that news story....
hard hitting (pun intended) news there channel six coverng somethng as lame as that from 3 months ago...
Channel 4 is also trying to dig up some dirt on the MU players involved. The brother of a guy i work with was in some capacity involved in the altercation. Channel 4 sent a reporter to his house on Monday in an attempt to get info on the MU players.
that looked like a typical night on water st or 3rd st.

good question Murs...i was wondering the same!
these news outlets are making fools of themselves trying to one up each other on this minor incident.
Just seemed odd for someones 1st post to be about someones brother knowing someone who heard something is all

I saw it more as a comment on how far Channel 4 would go to try and manufacture something/anything to keep the story alive.
I like how the reporter emphasizes "thoroughly" and "fully" when reading MU's report.
So the caller says that "things are getting out of hand" yet the man who won't be identified says he is the only one who got hurt...and from the stock photos of an injured hand, even that seems questionable.
Something about Fox 6's slogan "Because it matters" doesn't quite seem right....
I don't see any guys that I can even pretend are MU players in there...That is pathetic
I didn't even notice any Marquette players in that video. Sensationalism at its finest.

If true, that's unbelievable....
When the initial report came out that there was surveillance video, I was a little worried about what might come out, but if that's it, I actually feel a lot better about this situation.
Could that even be called a fight? Maybe I missed it in the Zapruder like nature of the tape, but I saw shoving and some people falling down, but I didn't really see any punches being throw.
The good news is, based on that, this story should be dead and we can all move on.

That's what a rational person would assume, but this is the Milwaukee media. They may discover a guy didn't wash his hands coming out of the bathroom and conclude Buzz has lost control of the program.

Exactly. Which is why they were only ticketed with being underage. If there was anything more serious, they would have been cited for something more serious.
Not much of a fight.
Once again the Local Pissant Media soils itself. This one doesn't even need a MU response as it stands on its own. My bois from the other thread will again jump on me, but local media who cannot frame their stories nationally or internationally with the speed of digital will continue to shrink and be irrelevant.
Take the Chicago Tribune's coverage on the MU story, framed in the DOE and Obama edicts with the Notre Dame backdrop vs. this coverage. Did the local Milwaukee media actually assign news reporters to this in an election year where Wisconsin is a swing state and the Gov. is up for recall? Yes, covering the Gatorade national player of the year going against the best crop of local talent in years in front of national media and coaches, and who many have committed to local schools is a much bigger story than this. So is sending media resources to cover the BE media day on Air Tran for a same day trip.
Its funny, I think the video and the ensuing report were pretty fair.
But, the headlines, and the introduction by Brad Hicks (anchor) made it seem like a HUGE deal, and that players could clearly be identified. It wasn't. They weren't.
It looks like DJO calmly walks out of the club, and then walks back over to the door to look in to see what is happening and get his friends to leave (see him gesturing).
Honestly, I'm glad they put this out. It's probably far better than what people were imagining.
Let's face it, Marquette is the uppity, private school with a basketball team that has no "traditional" players on scholarship. As sad as it is to say, there are a lot of people in Wisconsin who don't like the school/team because of that. The media knows that negative MU press gets attention so they're trying to make it a bigger deal than it is.
There is a reason no charges were filed. What a "fight"...
Ask Allen Iverson whether or not this is a big deal.

I think when you do something like that it only emboldens them even more. The insignificance of the story speaks for itself.
What does Bill Michaels have to say about all this?

I was expecting DJO with a ripped shirt and a jagged bottle of booze, a tie around his head and screaming "I'm gonna kill the next mutherfucker that moves!". Meanwhile blue rolls up on a Harley, drives in the front door and grabs DJO and throws him bitch on the back of the bike. Oh, and jamail is riding in the sidecar with a WWII helmet on and a machete.

I heard Vander slide a guy down the bar and rammed his head into a jukebox, just like every 70's movie bar fight.

I have seen more physical altercations at Walmart on Black Friday when people want a $39 Blu-Ray player.
Waste of time.
Bill Michaels must have the HD video because he needed to check with his attorneys to see how much he could put out there.

hopefully they don't photoshop Crowder and DJO in pummeling some guy and release it the day before the NBA draft.
