Bahahahaha and someone tried to say that Marquette girls aren't trolls.
Also, I have been to at least 5 of the listed bars.
The douche to non douche ration on the north side of the city is horrendous. The only non douche bar in Lakeview I can think of is L&L Tavern.
Other non douche bars
1. Handlebar: Vegetarian food and no TVs? Bro, I am outta here!!
2. The Local Option: so f*cking metal
3. Delilahs: Wesley Willis broke ash trays over his head here!
4. Twisted Spoke: Where's West town?
5. Quenchers: Cash only and crusty punks?!?
6. VFW Post 7975: No joke
7: Richards: People smoking inside - OH MY
8: The Rocking horse: Where?

I have lived in Chicagoland for almost 24 years, and I have only been to two of them.
It's not that I am an excellent douche-bar detector; I discovered they also sell booze in the suburbs.

You don't need to go to a douche bar, there are plenty of douches here to mack on you.

That statement, ironically, makes you as much of a tool as people at exclusively frequent those bars.

I thought it made me a 50 year old guy who stays away from "douchey" bars.
This list is basically saying if you are in your 20's and you like the Cubs, you're a douche.
They have every bar in Lakeview/wrigleyville listed.
To be fair however, I have been to some of those bars on a gameday, and they are pretty "bro-ish".

Then they nailed it on the head.

The bars themselves aren't the issue, per say. It is the clientele that is the problem. A lot of people on gameday are tourists or don't live in Chicago. However, on the weekends when d-bags and creeps come lurking, most of those people are residents.
NT
The Chicago Bar Project list 1529 bars in the city limits; there is no reason to go to any of the 25 on this list.

Cody's Public House is my favorite, and least-douchey, bar of all time.

And there's nothing wrong with Guthrie's.

Or Toon's.

Or Galway Bay

Or Ten Cat

Reading your statement now, I can see how you meant it. Initially I thought you were just bashing Chicago as in "bar is in Chicago, thus naturally it must be a douchey bar"

Yeah, I only go to bars where locals hangout. Crowded popular bars more than a 10 minute drive are not my deal, Anymore....
Lived in the city for less than 12 months about 7 years ago... in the suburbs since. Been to six that I'm aware of. Seven if you want to count Barleycorn's location in Schaumburg (incidentally, only a douche would).
However, I wouldn't be surprised if there are four or five more places that I've been to but simply don't remember -- I was unfortunately with a bunch of douches & there were a lot of places we went that night -- that whole day from 11:00 a.m. on is a blur.
