Michigan State's Tom Izzo, Butler's Brad Stevens and Marquette's Buzz Williams will be working with the CBS Sports broadcast team of Greg Gumbel, Greg Anthony, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Seth Davis.
"The Final Four Show" on CBS will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday. Kentucky and Louisville will tip off in the first national semifinal at 6:09 p.m. Ohio State and Kansas will follow.
That is great! Buzz seems like he'd be a natural, although Stevens seems like a stiff to me.

On the other hand, Buzz likes to pontificate whereas Stevens could probably keep to the script. You always need a good mix of analysts and color guys on shows like that. Buzz is definitely a color guy :)

Stevens will play the straight man, Buzz will be himself. Should be classic.
Should help recruiting

I have met Brad Stevens, and if he is as personable on camera as he is in real life, he should be fine.

Not unless there was one outside of his office at Hinckle. My friend, who is a Marquette alum and an administrator at Butler, was taking my son and me on a tour of the school and we ran into him there. He was wearing a polo shirt and warmup pants. With that baby face of his, he could have been mistaken for a ballboy.

Or help him land a new gig at the next available blue blood.
Act like you've been here before
I hope he comes out from backstage doing the WVU Two-Step(R) to his chair and proceeds to sweat so profusely they have to call numerous official timeouts for him to go change his entire wardrobe each time
Davis was giving him a hard time about the "butcher/baker/candlestick maker" comments last weekend, wonder if it comes up at all...
we should watch to see if Buzz indicates there is still a riff with Larry...
You could make this a Buzz drinking game...
Take one everytime Buzz says:
"I don't mean that in an arrogant way"
"Relative to..."
"Paint touches"
any others?

Just tell CBS not to play John Denver's Country Roads as they head to commercial!!!!

a big ditto from me too. i heard a comment from someone whom shall remain anonymous, that if buzzwere to leave "some" would not be too UNhappy about it. that pisses me off. i was here when rick majerus was let go and we soon regretted that one for a long time-especially when rick took utah to the final four and we burned thru duckett the piano man and deane who wasn't terrible. but... the big point is to recognize when you have something good and appreciate it and hold on to it!!
That probably could be said of people at most of the schools. If Calipari, Calhoun or Pitino left, there would probably be people at the school that would be happy about it.

I lived through that disaster as well, but IMO Rick needed to go. He needed some space to develop and MU was not that place for him in the mid 80s.
I completely agree that the longer Buzz stays the better the program will be. It would be nice to taken off the "stepping stone" list.

I think pushing Rick out the door, and bringing in Dukiet, was in the end a good move. It woke everyone up.

you're probably right.it did open the door to mcneil, then crean. rick was one and still is one deep dish with the works away from the big one and i don't mean "game"
Rick leaving made sense to both sides. Unfortunately we had to hit very low levels as a program to open our eyes. Without the KO hire we maybe would have remained at a very low level for many years. I do think Rick is an unbelievable coach and could not be happier for his success.
don't get me wrong with my comment about rick and his health. i wish him all the good health and success in the world. he even spoke at my h.s. athletic and dental school orientation. he is one of the funniest, wittiest, interesting guys i've ever heard in person next to big al

I too had thought Rick was pushed, but some here have criticized him for "deserting" us. Can you fill in the details?
Lenny,
Not so sure is was pushed out at all. There were folks that were not sad to see Rick leave but in the end it was best for both parties. I felt Rick deserted us to some extent, especially with the time of year he left. Found his leaving to be surprising but not shocking.
Hank was pushed and Rick was more Rick needing a change in my opinion.
Buzz did a nice job just now. Good analysis with some funny comments. Good PR for MU.
Someday he will be a fantastic color analyst.
Didn't get to see it. Darn. I bet he was good.
anyone get a video?

Watching it back now on DVR....can't believe how different his voice sounds when he hasn't been screaming for 40 minutes! Doesn't even sound like him.
When was he on??? I have both games dvr'd n cant find him
Buzz was on just about one hour before tipoff of the first game, probably around 4:05 Central time--he was only on for five minutes, tops.
