Title: Rooting for Pitino and Louisville
Post by: mviale on March 27, 2012, 09:17:24 PM
Have to go with the fellow Big East and they deserve it.

No.

Double NO.  Don't like Kentucky at all, but would love to see them curb stomp Louisville, and send Coach Karen Sypher home.

I'll have to see what happens when I'm watching the game on Saturday.  I'll naturally hate one of the two more than the other one and I'll decide in the moment.  If I had to pick now I might say Kentucky is one of the few teams I could dislike more than I hate Louisville.

Yeah, I'll be pulling for L'ville as well. Ask yourself, do you want to see Ashley Judd splattered across your screen during the championship game? It was cute 10 years ago Ashley, go away. Plus Kentucky will have this final four appearance vacated by the NCAA down the road....

Is there a game on this weekend?

I just don't understand this logic of rooting for Loserville. I'm glad the Big East has a representative in the FF but that's it.

Almost anyone but Kentucky and I'd be right there with you.  I just can't stand that program post-Tubby.

Have to.  Pitino's been a vocal representative of the basketball side of the BE.

What T-Bone said, plus Louisville is better for me in one of the pools I'm in.  In addition, after 40 years of despising Kentucky I had to root for them against II, II.  One game in forty years is enough.

All Louisville as well

I dont understand bow you could not root for our conference.  Anything that could help MU in even the slightest of way, I'm rooting for.

Go Louisville.   I really don't like Calipari and am curious if this will be his first final four to not be vacated.    Louisville fans have their own delusions, but for the most part on the scout board have been intelligent and respectful toward the MU program.    Kentucky fans are bat-crap crazy.    Pitino has been one of the few high profile people fighting for the Big East.    So, go Cards.

did I miss last year's FF being vacated by UK?

Do we really have a choice?

I spent the whole season hoping Kentucky would not win it. There is no way I am rooting for them. I do not like Kansas and will not root for them. I will be damned, if I root for a Big 10 team to win it. I do not like Louisville, but I always root for conference teams in non-conference games. At this point I do not even know if I will bother watching the final 4.

No, but I had a brain fart.

I am absolutely cheering for Louisville. I hate the Cypher incident, but aside from that, Pitino generally has been a good coach and good guy that seems to have mostly done things right. Nothing of his was vacated at Providence or UK, and I don't see it happening at UL. He's been a huge advocate of the Big East staying together, and while their team frustrates the hell out of me when we lose to them, they play hard and have quality guys that you can find reason to cheer for. Every time I see Gorgui Dieng, in particular, I think of how much I'd love to have him on Marquette.

And the more they win, the more money comes back to our Warriors. It's win-win.

Rooting for Louisville to beat Kentucky then lose to OSU.  The Big East will have an extra $1.7M in their pockets and I'll have a stack of 50 fins in mine.

Go Louisville! Pitino has been a favorite basketball coach of mine since I was a kid rooting for Jamal Mashburn and UK.  He is a great coach, maybe not as great of a person, but that guy works his a$$ off on the sidelines. Incredible defensive minded coach. Best fullcourt press ever.

Louisville is just the lesser of the evils at the FF.  Plus Ricky has been the voice of the BE the last 2 years since BE leadership is like a deer in the headlights.

Ohio State: You really want a B10 team to win?  No thank you.
Kentucky: Meh.
Kansas: Self seems like a nice guy, but their fans are as arrogant as they come.

I hope "Meh." translate to "their fans are the maximum level of arrogance possible.  You think KU is bad, UK is 10x worse.

Why root for Kentucky at this point?  They already made it to the Final Four, so we have what we need for Coach Cal to extend his "Most Teams That Had To Vacate a Final Four Season Due To Recruiting Violations" streak.

All we have to do at this point is sit back and wait for the inevitable.

You always want the National Champ to come from your conference, especially if it's two years in a row and different teams.

MU will be there to take the streak to four.

If Louisville beats UK many of their fans will blow a gasket!

I would root for almost any BE team besides Louisville, ND and Syracuse.

I'm going for Kentucky to win it all. Kinda fell in love with the 'Cats when John Wall was there. They're amazing to watch and I like Calipari.

I'll await your boos/hisses.

So you like the guy that is promising UK a vacated title within the next five years (literally)? The guy who also stated he cuts every corner, crosses no i's or t's. Agree with whoever said they hopped off UK post Tubby. Go Louisville and the coach trying to save the BEAST.

I was never really on UK; I just didn't despise them as much as I do now.  Kinda like Boston winning the World Series.  Never really liked them, but they've been insufferable since 2004.

The only bright side of Louisville winning it all would be that 2 years in a row Marquette beat the eventual National Champions. Granted, that doesn't mean much of anything but I was just trying to come up with something positive about L'ville winning.

It would appear so, wouldn't it?
