It pains me to say it, but Marquette beat itself in that game. Missed alley-oops, stupid fouls, bad shooting, it was a bad combination. Add into it the non-call on the potential flagrant 1 to Jamil at a critical moment, and we were doomed. (No I'm not blaming the refs, just saying it was the icing on a rotten cake).
Florida has played well for a 7 seed, but if we play them 10 times this year I think we'd win 7 or 8 times. What hurts the most is that as the No. 3 seed other teams did some heavy lifting and beat the No. 1 and No. 2 seed. Things were set up as well as we could ever hope to get to NOLA again.
Programs rarely get a chance like that to get to the Final 4 and we blew it. Plain and simple. The game has changed a lot, but in some ways I think that was worse than the 1974 loss to NC State in the National Championship game because we beat ourselves.
If anyone can think of a worse loss in program history I'm interested in hearing it.
PS: All of that said I loved this year's team and what they did. If someone told me we'd be playing in the Sweet 16 again I'd be thrilled. It says a lot that our expectations were so high that not going to Elite 8 or higher was a disappointment.
Western Michigan NIT.....fucking embarrassing. Losing to Southern Miss in Green Bay...pathetic.....Pantsed vs. Kansas in NOLA....

Western Michigan in NIT 1st round?
Not even close. Read our history before making comments like this.

I don't even remember the Western Michigan game. No one cares about the NIT.
Southern Miss loss was regular season and no one cares.
Loss to Kansas we got run off the court. I'm still convinced D Wade was concussed after that fall. Anyways, no shame in leaving the Final 4 with a loss. 3 of the 4 teams do.
We beat ourselves and could be playing Louisville to go to the Final 4! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

So now you're asking for the Worst NCAA tournament loss in MU history? If that's the new rule.. I'd have to say first round loss to Michigan St - did we even score double digits in the first half?
Correct me if I'm wrong... but I think only 2 teams leave the Final 4 with losses...

Your rational is full of faults. You are coming up with rational to prove your hypothesis rather than having facts speak for themselves. Therefore, you are full of poop on this point because obviously people remember the Western Michigan loss the first two posts pointed it out. Last night, the shots just didn't fall. If we hit a few 3's, we win going away.

Huh? What facts did you point out? My rationale (not "rational") was that if we hit a few 3s (not 3's, that's possessive) we win going away. You justified my rational
e for me. Thanks, Chili.

If merely hitting a few 3s wins that game for us, clearly we didn't play that poorly. Meaning there's no way that was the "worst loss in program history" (but you really mean worst loss in MU's NCAA history.. as long as Wade wasn't maybe concussed)

Sorry penis breath, the point is you said no one remembers W. MI, yet the first two posts to your half brained idea that last night was the most embarrassing loss in the history of the program proved you wrong. There have been much worse losses than losing in the Sweet 16 to the Gators. Go skiing with a couple of dudes and shove a bottle up your brown eye clown.

Tournament losses are on a bigger scale and almost by definition are bigger than regular season losses. I'd give up and 3 Ws in the regular season for a single W last night. I'm sure 99% of the people on this board would agree.
As for your request to be corrected if you are wrong: 3 teams leave with a loss.
Four teams go into the Final 4; teams 4, 3, 2 and 1.
4 plays 3. In the first game, 3 wins and 4 loses (losing team #1). In the second game, 2 plays 1. 1 wins and 2 loses (losing team #2).
In the final, Team 3 plays Team 1. 1 wins and 3 loses (losing team #3).

Grow up. And learn to write. Actually, do those two things in opposite order. The former is less likely to happen than the latter.

So 15 teams leave the Sweet 16 with a loss?

Piss off...your higher than mighty act may fool some but we all get you have no life.
I have done enough growing up, I just know how to enjoy life without being a smug POS.

Yesterday? Worst loss in program history?
Not even close. Doubt it is even in the top ten.
MMmmkay, people. Think we've gone off the rails here, and we had a thread like this yesterday.
