The Sweet 16 loss to Florida was disappointing, of course, and really hard to watch.
Marquette just did not bring its "A" game. Oh well. ...
I worried a lot this season about which Marquette team would show up. The MU team that showed up against Florida had no chance of beating the Gators. Oh well. ...
I am left with deep-seated concerns about Junior Cadougan as Marquette's starting point guard. I know many here are rather high on Cadougan. I do not see it.
I now find myself wondering how this loss will affect how NBA teams view Darius Johnson-Odom and Jae Crowder. Their play against Florida hardly sent the kind of message that DJ-O and Jae, who is a favorite at our house, would have preferred.
I remain extremely proud of Marquette University and its basketball program.

For as poorly as a game that Junior had stats wise, it was so evident that our offense is lost without him. When he is playing well you don't notice because he keeps things running, when he has some long-pass turnovers they are hard to watch, but watching the game without him in was way worse. We'll be OK with him as our driver.

But he had the composure to relax, think it through and make a classy post.
I thought it was a game DJO had to take over. Jae was in foul trouble and Odom needed to drive the ball and try to open it up.

Yep. That is what I kept saying yesterday. DJO scored as many points as Jae and Junior when they were on the bench with foul trouble. He had 8 in the first 5 minutes of so and did not score the remainder of the half. That really hurt, as it seemed like the team was needing someone to take over. Still tied with about 2 or so to go in the half.
