i think UL has the length to defend nix/payne and the shooters to beat MSU's D. also think they have an advantage in speed, wouldnt be surprised to see UL in the E8...
I'll root for MSU (Sparty is my next favorite bball team), but I think Louisville will probably win.
If we win and Louisville wins, don't think Buzz will have to do a lot of creative things to get the guys motivated. Revenge, revenge, revenge. Oh, and a trip to NO on the line.
My brackets want MSU to win. I want Looooyville to win because I don't think there is any chance they do what they did to us in the Big East tournament again.

Thought the same thing. But last year it was all about revenge in the BET because of our debacle in Louisville. I'm really pulling for MSU here.

I honestly don't know. I would love to beat UL to get there, but I'd abhor losing to them at that point. Watching MSU, I really think outside of Green (who's fantastic) they can be exploited. Him v Crowder would be one for the ages, but we have the edge almost everywhere else.
I definitely think we're better than UL, but after MSG, they unnerve me. Pitino has some serious anti-Warrior dark magic going on.
Which Louisville team? The one that can shoot or the one that can't shoot? If Louisville can shoot and Dieng stays out of foul trouble, I like Louisville's chances. If MSU turns into a slog, then Sparty wins. I'm conflicted. Sparty is my second favorite team, but (A) the whole B-East/B1G rivalry and (B) wanting another shot at Pitino has me kind of rooting for the Cards.
I'd like revenge from Louisville, but also want to be the ones to take Mich State down. The tiebreaker for me is that UL is in the BE, so I want them to win.

Been thinking about the potential draymond Green - Jae Crowder matchup, but I'd prefer to have the BE team win...I'm good either way, because if we survive UF, we'll beat either one of 'em.
Assuming MU gets by Florida, we have to hope for Louisville spending so much energy to beat MSU that they have nothing left. Michigan St. has too much size to expect MU to beat them. It wiould be a repeat of the Vandy game.

I would not draw definitive conclusions based on the Vandy game. Light years ago. This MU team does not resemble in the slightest the one that played Vandy.
Plus, MU has handled teams with size. I think MU's speed and athleticism might be too much for MSU.

On a related note--who will the majority of MU fans at the game cheer for? Interesting that with four BE schools making it, they are all placed in two regions, and three of the four are facing Big T(welev)en opponents. Do you think most of the MU/Louisville and Cinci/'Cuse fans cheer for each other?

Got to cheer for the conference. "Yuck!" in regards to any Big10 teams.
Here's one reason I'd want Louisville -- I would rather a Big East champ than a Big Ten champ. Granted, Kentucky will be a beastly out for anyone, but if we don't win it, I'd rather it be Louisville than Michigan State. I have no connection or love for MSU. While UL is a rival, and a massive one at that, they're a rival I can respect. They play hard, they give us great games, but when it's done, I don't hate their team or fanbase.
I never like a Marquette loss, but if it had to happen, I'd rather it happen to a team whose winning benefits us, and that way when we beat them next year, we can say we beat the defending champs on their home court (just like we did at UConn this year).
Conflicted indeed. MSU may have size, but their guard play leaves a lot to be desired (especially since Dawson went down with the ACL injury). I think we could get out and run on Sparty. Beating a 1 seed, a perennial Final Four fixture (I watch those Dove - Izzo commercials and still shake my head at 6 Final Fours), and a Big Tweleven team, would be perfect.
However, sweet revenge on L'ville to get to NOLA would be icing on the cake. Not to mention having another Big East team in the Elite 8 would bode well for the conference.
It's a toss up for me.
