Now tomorrow's game means something.
Lets go NSU.........
Mixed feelings. Tough to beat a team 3 times in a row.
I don't care who they play. This team has the it. As Goose said, believe. I am a believer. I am happy and believe in MU no matter who they play.
Agree that beating a team 3 times is really hard. I am happy that we get a chance to play either.
Most likely game times for Thursday and Saturday???
Thursday will be late afternoon/evening, right?
Could Saturday be a night game or will it definitely be an earlier game? No way to tell as of yet? ughasfkl;asfl;jsdakl;j
Since 4 networks are covering the games I expect all the games to be in the evening EST.
I don't know if either team will give us as hard of a time as Murray State did tonight. Man what a nail-biter.
I think we will really miss Otule against Norfolk St. However, it is a no brainer for me. Norfolk st. Billy Donavan has won enough, I see no reason to root for him to advance.

Harder to beat a team filled with high major recruits. It's not close, please stop comparing because you embarrass yourself. If you're pulling for Florida you need your head examined.
Can't wait to watch Kyle O'Quinn vs Patric Young in the paint.
I am in Omaha watching the games (and in full Marquette attire). Florida looked sneaky good yesterday and if they hit their 3s they can beat a lot of teams. NFU rode the emotion of a full house of KU fans that got behind them and literally could not miss. Their big man is a stud but their guards can be had into a lot of turnovers and their defense is suspect......They are a great story but I would much rather face them in the s16 than Florida...just based on my eyeballs at the game...that could change tomorrow but I expect Florida to win. By the way NFU band is frickn' beyond words awesome.
What a game yesterday and what an environment when they beat Mizzou...that was huge and potentially huge for us. Btw, staying in the same hotel as KU and Tyshawn Taylor's kin liked my MU gear (seriously....they praised Buzz). I then imagined our run this year if Tyshawn had stayed with MU....
Great feeling to be back to back sweet 16s.....now go NFU!
I actually would want Florida to win
I don't care who wins, I expect MU to beat either team.
Did not mean anything about prior reference to t. Taylor being with MU besides the fact he is a great kid and has really blossomed....he is an asset and without him KU would not be the team they are and with him MU would be evn better....but I would not trade this team for anyone right now....love this ride!
making a few assumptions here, but...
IF we beat FL/NSU and MSU beats UL/NM we will see Izzo's team on 2 days prep.
This would be a huge help as giving Tom izzo 5 days to prep for a team is a very difficult task to overcome.
also, can you imagine the battle between Draymond and Jae?? holy smokes...
anyway, that's as far forward as i will look at this point.
for now, focus on our next opponent, survive, and ADVANCE!

Just saying I was in agreement with another post on beating a team 3 times is difficult. Apparently I should agree with whatever you think. Did I ever say I was pulling for Florida? Thanks for attacking a simple comment.
I think we can beat either team, but let's be honest, Norfolk State makes for the easier road. I admire their team, but they aren't Florida. Brad Beal is a flat-out stud. Patric Young is one of the better bigs in the country. In terms of ability, Florida is better at pretty much every position, and that probably even includes center (and I love O'Quinn).
I know there's the whole "beating a team 3 times" myth, but it's just that. The myth comes from the NFL, where teams that go 2-0 in the first two meetings historically win 70% of the third meetings. An ACC fan ran the numbers for college basketball using the ACC as the measuring stick, and when a team won the first two meetings, they won 87% of the third meetings. Bottom line, when you win the first two games, it's probably because you're the better team. We're better than NSU. They are good, we are better. So I'd rather face them, because when it comes to Florida, it's not such a cut-and-dried answer.

Michigan St. did it when they stomped bucky 3 times in 2000.

A whole thread was started on this topic earlier. If you had read it, you'd have known to duck. The hard to beat three times theory was pretty much savaged.

I think they might have beaten them 4 times that year.

Can we please give this a rest. This isn't the NFL. MU is a superior team. I'd gladly take a third game against them. Really glad MU doesn't have to worry about Mizzou.
NSU and Marquette are both very different teams than when they first (and second) met. We're out Otule, O'Quinn was a non-factor in the first game, and we shot terribly from deep in the second.
My gut tells me that NSU's destiny depends on how Florida plays. NSU's win over Missouri was impressive because both shot lights-out - meaning that Missouri got beat, pure and simple. I don't imagine NSU shooting that way again. The question becomes whether Florida shows up and knocks down their shots.
As for Florida, I have mixed feelings. They can play with the best, and when they're hot, they're hard to beat. I believe we're better and tougher, but this would be a hell of a game.
Wow. People sure are testy on here tonight. Settle down. We're in the Sweet 16. Life is good. As Davante would say, "Sheesh!"

We have looked less than stellar against two SEC opponents this year. LSU and Vanderbilt. Though we did beat Ole Miss, I'd rather take my chances with Norfolk State.
