The Trailblazers are playing the Bulls tonight in Chicago, so yesterday Wes watched the game at popular Chicago MU bar, The Schoolyard.

Marquette Warrior fan Wes Matthews. Gotta love the shirt.
such a class act....no idea if he'd make a good coach, but i'd love to see him back at mu when his playing days are over.
I thought people on these boards said all those guys preferred our current name?
Wonder how things will play out for him the rest of the season. Blazers have really struggled, Wes now coming off the bench. Yesterday McMillan fired, Wallace traded, they tried to unload Crawford and Felton.

Just goes to show you how deep it runs. Even Wes knows Golden Eagles is a joke.
Why am I not surprised that Wes loves him some Warriors.
Where can you buy that shirt? Nice
The best student athlete marquette has ever produced is a proud WARRIOR! Nothing else needs to be said.
Damnit! I was at "The Schoolyard" yesterday and he walked right by me and I thought "is it Wes?" And continued onto my seat.
Idiot! :-[

+1
I guess the two kids bought beers for eveyone on the house.
Is Wes the most famous Marquette alum?
That is way too cool, love the affection the former players have for the school. How did Wes know to go the Schoolyard perhaps MUScoop. Where was JFB?

While not an alum, I think Al is the most famous Marquette personality. When I was applying for jobs, several people in NYC would tell me that they fondly remembered Al. No joke.

I think most NBA guys would say the Blazers aren't struggling, but purposely tanking for the draft. Didn't they just cut Oden after signing him to a new deal this year?
Seriously, has anyone ever seen that shirt he was wearing for sale?

The one he is wearing in the first thread.
Nothing against Wes but the waitresses looked much better in those t-shirts. :P
Wes back in starting line-up tonight against Bulls - scores 18 in big win on the road for Portland.
Read a story on how McMillan told Wes he was benched. Needless to say, I can see how players didn't like him.

It must be so cool to be able to find a MU-friendly bar and walk in and know everyone's clamoring to be your bff! can't beat that smile either!! Hope I can make it to the Schoolyard someday.
I think Wes & JFB were tweeting about where to watch the game on Wed, if I'm not mistaken.
