Title: What's the SOG Record?
Post by: JoBo2756 on March 16, 2012, 07:03:02 PM
Mods, old geezers, anybody who has been with this board for over 4 years (my statute of limitations)?

Jae's got 9 now and could get many more. Anybody know the record?

Pretty sure the BYU game makes it 10 on the year for Jae...mods, is that right? Should the number be updated or is my math off again?

Good catch. We have 26 wins but only 25 studs.

I guess by "many" I should say five more... but at this stage of the game, that would be considered many, many, many...

Yes, that's correct.  Jae should have 10, I forgot to update that line!  Updating now...

I could be wrong, I wasn't on this site then, but I think Ska just might be messing with you. On a team with Jerel, DJ, Wes, and Lazar, I don't think 4.2 ppg Dan Fitzgerald had 15 SOTG awards.

Did we always keep track of SToGs?  I know some of you remember the Dunk-o-Meter, hahaha  ;D

No way Dan Fitz had 15 SOGs.

Who has the record mods?

Ok, admittedly an insane idea, but if Jae has the record, would anyone be interested in contributing to creating an SOG trophy for Jae? Wouldn't be more than $150 and could be a really cool way to celebrate someone who has made serious contributions to the team all year (thus increasing the MUScoop community happiness).

It could be a traveling trophy, like the Stanley Cup, or a one time trophy we could create each year (logistics of a traveling trophy could be complicated but would be cool). This could be an awesome way to celebrate a real SOG, elevate MUScoop as the standard for MU fans and be a fun way to show fan appreciation.

Unless the winner is a senior and has used up his eligibility, I think this may be a NCAA violation.

Crowder has been awarded it 10 times. I bet I voted for him 5 times , when it was given to someone else.

That's honestly a great idea. I'd gladly chip in on that. Maybe something amusing with a large faceplate so the names could be added each year?

We could call it the "MU Scoop Stud of the Season" award.

Titan, don't think it would be a violation if it was a traveling trophy, thus he would never actually own it. I could be wrong. They could just keep it in the Al or something.
