"Great run for those seniors on Mizzou. That will teach me to mock Marquette only beating Norfolk State by two in November in Paradise Jam."
I knew immediately after the Paradise Jam final that Norfolk St. would be in the tournament
After the game I remember reading DJO say the same
Let's not forget that Norfolk State is 212th in Kenpom .. losing to such giants as Elizabeth City St. (non D1) .. Morehead St (190), Coppin St (278), Delaware St (251).
Their 2nd best win before today was against 145 Texas Christian.
I love that they won today, but they very much over-achieved, proving the any-given-Sunday rule. Which who knows, may apply to them on Sunday too.
Greg Anthony said that Missouri played well but Norfork played better. Frank Haith (Mizzou coach) said they had no answer for O'Quinn and were overpowered. Not sayin KenPom is bad but from what I saw in 3 games no way they're anywhere near the #212 team in the nation.
No worse than #32 now!

True, but this was only their 6th chance against a Top 100 teams, and showed they can play. The results in those 6:
BEAT #7 Missouri and #33 Drexel
PLAYED TIGHT GAMES LATE at #83 Va Tech and nuetral court vs. #17 Marquette
BLOWN out twice at #87 Illinois STate and at #17 MArquette.
That's a record that indicates they can play with very good teams.
The bad losses are going to happen when you play 26 games against teams not in the top 150, because every team plays a terrible game about once every 6 games.
While Pomeroy is low, when you play a schedule that bad then Pomeroy is mainly based on whether you beat terrible teams by 30 points or 15 points.
Bama .. people can come up with statistics to prove anything. Forfty percent of all people know that.

Bama .. people can come up with statistics to prove anything. Forty percent of all people know that.
That's only true 62.4% of the time.

All we can *really* say is that they sure passed the eye test!
Side note, does anyone else think Norfolk's coach looks a little creepy? it must be the goatee.
