He picked Wisconsin to the Final Four. I sure hope he's wrong. I hate Wisconsin!
Is this your first year of the tounament? everyone's wrong, every year.

Well he seems to be one of the most respected when it comes to predictions or what not.
I don't have them going that far, but tournament games are usually half court, grind it out affairs, so Wisconsin would always seem to have a chance. SEnior point guard play is key too, so Jordan Taylor is tough to top there. Not a crazy call.

All ESPN hype.
Others are proven to be better.
He's not the best. ESPN tells everyone he's the best.
Lunardi is really good at predicting who gets into the dance and who doesn't. He has never been very good at predicting who wins games--that's not his area of expertise.
I've been knocking on a ton of wood for you guys. Nothing would chap my a$$ more than if Becky made it to the FF.
I cannot explain to anybody how much hatred I have for that team!

Is it all that difficult to predict who's going to make the tourney?
Of the 68 spots, 31 are automatic bids, and of the 37 at-large bids, usually 32 are no-brainers. So, we're basically talking about 5 spots you need to predict. That doesn't seem very difficult.

Considering how many schools there are to choose from to fill 5 spots, its very difficult. But its not rocket science.
Last year, Lunardi picked all #1 seeds:

He was close: a #3, #4, #8, and #11 made it to the Final Four.

2006-2011 He is ranked 27th out of 44 bracketologists. Here is the link: http://bracketproject.blogspot.com/2011/11/2011-12-bracket-matrix-links.html (http://bracketproject.blogspot.com/2011/11/2011-12-bracket-matrix-links.html)
This year he finished 40th out of 105: http://bracketproject.50webs.com/matrix.htm (http://bracketproject.50webs.com/matrix.htm)
At best most people should consider him average, but he isn't good at picking brackets, he just works for ESPN.

Lunardi isn't the best... he's just the guy who does it year-round, so people think he's the best.
while i surely hope uw doesn't make a ff run...they are easily sitting in the best part of the bracket to do so with cuse's latest news. the thing with wisconsin is that they are capable of losing to anyone in the tourney because they are so un-athletic. i have montana beating them (because i hate bo with a passion), and i've seen many "experts" do the same, but with mello out, they have an easy path. hoping vandy stays red hot!
To be fair, Lunardi said on the show "The Experts" that he picked Wisconsin as his sleeper Final 4 team around Christmas and that he was going to stick with it. He basically said that he didn't think they'd make it, however, and that Vandy would give them a lot of problems.

You mean Montana right? Not sure Becky will get to Vandy.
After the MU/UW game i predicted the badgers would have double digit losses, they have 9, one more makes double digits. I just can't see them making any kind of run, if they do get by Montana, Vanderbilt should destroy them. I hope so, my first priority is that Marqutte wins, second priority is that Wisconsin loses.

Cool.
Hey guys great thread here.... But how many of you think MU will dominate BYU
I think we match up really well with BYU... personally, I'd be surprised if we won by less than double digits

I suppose, but Bo has had them playing more or less the same style for his entire 11 years there and only once did the Badgers even reach the Elite 8.
UW-Madison could easily get to the Final 4.
UW-Madison could easily lose tomorrow.
That's what happens when you rely on the 3 point shot so heavily. Hopefully they get super hot the first couple games so that they don't embarrass the state and then fizzle out before MU does :)
UW is good. 'Member they nearly won in Chapel Hill. Toughest game for them is Vandy. Caught a break with SU soiling the bed. Wouldn't surprise me if they're sippin' hurricanes and eatin' crawfish.

He also had Seton Hall the last 4 in.

Wisconsin is too dependent on the long ball to make a sustained run, especially against the length and athleticism they will likely face in Vandy and Syracuse. It has been what has plagued that team in the Ryan era...the furthest they have gone is when they have had a penetrating point guard in Devin Harris.
I would actually be surprised if they get past Vanderbilt.

Why? Are they having their end-of-year awards banquet at Louisianne's?
