Title: SMU Fires Doherty
Post by: brewcity77 on March 13, 2012, 01:27:52 PM
I'm amazed at this move right before they join the Big East. Especially considering that Doherty had recruited a 4-star, top-100 7-footer for 2012 in Blaise Mbargorba.

I realize they were bad, but what are the odds they'll do better than Doherty at this point? I suppose a lack of improvement after 6 years is disturbing, but they had some promising freshmen and a good looking incoming class. Wonder who they'll add in hopes that they can start competing once they enter the Big East.

I don't think Doherty has proven that he can coach yet.

The 7 footer went somewhere called "The Peddie School."

Insert Jerry Sandusky joke here.

Can't help but laugh...

But we were also in on Mbargorba. It'll be interesting to see what happens if he opens his recruitment back up, I wonder if we'd be an option if a scholarship were suddenly to come available in 3 weeks or so.

Who then?  I thought you were just making a general statement given that transfers are a part of life now, but if you had someone specific in mind...

If Durley goes to SMU, would Buzz follow?

No, Buzz's College eligibility is used up, Durley would have to find a point guard elsewhere.
