We Chicagoans need to establish a home bar in the River North area for those of us working in the Loop/River North during tourney time. Disappearing to Lincoln Park/Lakeview is just a bit too far to take a "long lunch" for the games. I vote O'Learys Public House. Place hangs a Green Bay flag in it, so it has to be at least somewhat kind to Milwaukee ex-pats. Though, a few years ago, I remember it being a cincy bar... (bring your boxing gloves)

I vote O'Learys Pubic House.
Good luck convincing others to join you at this so called 'pubic house'.

Back in my day, students showed up to games, opaque cups were everywhere, and everyone loved a good pubic house.

In my line of work, those don't come by very often, sadly.
I will be at The Library (the bar) on the University of Minnesota campus if anyone is interested.
If you are going to be in Vegas, we had a great crowd last year. Consider why it's better than spending the game at the sports book:
1) No sound in the sports book
2) Cheap drinks & food
3) MU fans
4) You have plenty of time to gamble.
All games will be watched at Scooters.

I will be traveling to Omaha this weekend, so it looks like it is Tiger Tom's Pub according to the MU site. Has anyone been there? Does it actually draw MU fans?

I thought you promoted the Red Rooster in Vegas?

How sure are you that they won't be featuring the BADgers?

I'll be there with the GF then. And that's cool...everyone still knows we are the best.
Ever.
Think I might try the Annex...at least I know the sound will be on there. Though I have a feeling I'll have to get there early...
BTW Bar Louie mentioned is the one at bayshore not on water st.
I called Leff's because I saw the "official spot" email also. First off the guy I spoke to didn't know when either team played. However he did say they would split the tv's up and, "depending on the score and the crowd of people watching" would determine which game got the audio. I have to assume that unless you go to campus, withe becky starting first the audio will be becky and the "main" tv's will be becky. Anyone know how game viewing is at Caffrey's on campus?

I don't know if it has changed in the past few years, but Caffrey's isn't a very good place to watch a game. Not condusive for it. You're better suited to go to the Annex, a half block over and deal with the crowd there. I'd also suggest Fanatics ff that is still running. Always had a good Marquette crowd there, lots of tv's, good beer prices for the tourney and a good food menu. And stadium seating for the largest TV.

Caffrey's is fine. Just make sure you get a spot at the half-booth tables facing away from the bar.
The Annex may not be very busy, the students are on Spring Break. I was down on campus today, and campus is like a ghost town.
Hey all - sorry if this has been posted before but I am looking for a MU friendly bar/restaurant to watch the game in Portland tomorrow. Any thoughts?

Anyone watching the game in the Loop?
Anyone going to The Courtside in Cambridge, MA?
NM I just learned from the bartender that there are no plans for alumni to attend until Saturday. Impressed with the ballsiness in assuming the W but c'mon, Boston area people. I am the ONLY one here today. Thats just ridiculous.
Hey everyone in Chicago...
On Saturday, myself and 4 or 5 other alumni are going to Four Shadows on Ashland and Diversey. I've been there a handful of times for games this year and its always full, but not as crowded as the Schoolyard (you can actually get to the bar). They have game audio and the food is good. I know Schoolyard is "the" place to go, but come down to Four Shadows, its on the site list and probably the second best MU bar. They have the MU flags up.
Game day specials:
$5 Jager Bombs
$4 22 oz Miller Lite Stadium Cups
$8 Pitchers of Miller Lite
Went to O'Neil's on Wells in the Loop today. It was just added as viewing site yesterday, I believe. Sound and pa-lenty of room. It's formerly known as Alcock's, but spruced up a bit. Should you have to cut out of work for any upcoming games, that would be a great choice.
