When they beat unc?
No, but too bad Buzz didn't reel in Snaer.
No.
Snare is good.
Unc making run. FSU is holding them off. 5 min left.
No, but Carolina is far from out of this. 6 down with 5 to go.
FSU likely stays as a 3. If they steal a 3, it'll be Michigan's, not ours, if for no other reason than it's harder to slot UM as a 3 when you already have MSU and tOSU on the 2-line that you have to keep them away from.
It's going to be VERY close. Two great games on coming down to the wire at the same time!
Fsu will win....by a hair.
FSU should be ahead of us on the S-curve. Don't know if that bumps us a seed though. Said it yesterday, but Leonard Hamilton is a really, really, really good coach.
So is Missouri the only potential one seed to win its conference tournament? Syracuse, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas all didn't. I'm guessing this gets Mizzou a one seed, and the B1G winner should now, but has it ever happened that all four top seeds didn't win their conference tournament and enter the NCAAs coming off a loss?

That certainly has
not been his reputation. Wasn't he about to be fired for having all this talent and not winning a few years back? I am too lazy to look, but I thought the year we lost the Snaer battle to FSU, there was some question as to if he would be fired that year.
As for the game, really a good one to watch. FSU played tough d, but the officials really let them play. At the end, I was wondering if someone might get hurt, ala Gardner and Nova.
As for the #1 seed question, KU was the one expected to get that 1 seed, not Mizzou. So, all 4 lost.
FSU, St. Bona., Vandy, Colorado, Loserville. All take the titles with no #1 seeds winning. Thats pretty amazing.
Yes, FSU gets a three seed.
Yes. We will now be a 4 seed.
We will be last three seed or first 4 seed.

He had the reputation prior to FSU as a good coach. He lead Miami from the depths to a NCAA tournament regular. It took him awhile to get going a FSU, but he has steadily gotten better.

Agree. So much depends upon how much value the committee places on conference tourney performance. Yes, they speak of the whole body of work, but when push comes to shove....??

I don't discount that it's possible, particularly when you consider some of the gyrations necessary to pair/bracket teams, but again, who are the 12 teams that will be seeded ahead of MU?
I have trouble even coming up with 10 or 11 sure things.

Hamilton is not a really really good coach. With all the talent he has brought in he is a perennial undeachiever.

The first 9, in my opinion, are easy:
UK, SU, Mizzou, UNC, Kansas, tOSU, MSU, Duke, Baylor
The next three...not so much. I think at most there are four teams you can argue...
- Louisville: Hot team, we have 2 fewer losses, better conference finish, a better RPI, and no bad losses, they have 3 more top-50 wins...very close
- Michigan: We have 2 fewer losses, better RPI, no bad losses, they have 2 more top-50 wins, but I think those 2 bad losses offset that
- Florida State: Same number of top-50 wins, but 4 of theirs are top-5 wins, we have a better RPI and 3 fewer losses...tough to justify a 10-loss team ahead of us, especially w/ 2 sub-100 losses
- Vanderbilt: I don't think so, but same number of top-50 wins, H2H win, win over UK are all big; but 11 losses just seems like too many
In no particular order:
1- Kentucky
2- Syracuse
3- Kansas
4- Missouri
5- MSU
6- tOSU
7- Duke
8- UNC
9- Baylor ?
10- FSU ??
11- Vandy ??
12- Louisville/Michigan/Georgetown ???????? - all a stretch
I conclude that there are only 8 or maybe 9 sure things. We SHOULD be a 3.
This time last year, I was hoping we would get an invite. Great problem to have.
guess I kind of feel like we always get slightly screwed so we'll be a 4 seed... just my gut. Hope I'm wrong.
Meethinks waaaaay too many people are putting waaaaay too much emphasis on conference tournaments.
Three words the committee relies heavily upon: "Body of Work." MU is still #9 in the RPI. That should be good enough for a 3 seed vs St Bonnie in Nashville and then on to STL. A loss to Louisville (conf tournament champion) is not enough to knock MU down to a 4 from a high 3 or low 2.
It was common belief that if Duke/NC played in the ACC championship game the winner would get a one seed. They are still talking on bracketology that NC gets a one seed. To me the process is a complete joke. Not only did Florida St beat both in the ACC tournament they also beat both of them during the regular season. I know they talk about whole body of work, but you can easily make the argument that in the last two months of the season Florida St was better than both Duke and North Carolina, North Carolina a one, Duke a two and Florida St a 3 just doe not make sense.

I don't see why we shouldn't put emphasis on conference tourneys. If I recall last year, we were final 4 in, and who knows if we would have made it had we lost to West Virginia in BET.
Good performances in conference tournaments improves your body of work, no? Sometimes immensely.

But in the past 2 months, neither UNC nor Duke have a single sub-100 loss, much less the two that Florida State has. And I don't think anyone in the top three seed lines has a loss as bad as Boston College. Gotta remember that body of work includes not just your high points, but also your lows. Sure, FSU has some great highs, but they also have some pretty woeful lows.

Yes... but there are diminishing returns on how "immensely" you can improve as you move up the S-curve. FSU is not going to jump from a low 4 seed to a high 3 seed because of what happened today. MU is not going to drop from 9-10 on the s-curve to a 4 seed. If anything, FSU usurps Michigan's 3 seed. The other 3's are still MU, G-Town, and Baylor.

I'd take Louisville over Georgetown right now, but otherwise, I agree.
