Minnesota choked against michigan and Baylor is gona beat Kansas
That's why you just gotta take care of business one game at a time. Can't rely on other teams. Hello 4 seed.

Yep. MU is a 3 Seed. Too many positive measurables, no negatives. RPI is 8. Cincy's win likely makes it no loss above a 50 RPI. Pretty damn impressive resume.
KU up on Baylor 10 to go.

Right now I agree. But IF the Badgers win their tourney and/or Florida, Louisville, Florrida State do the same we are in trouble.
Can't see Dracula slaying Michigan State and Ohio State back-to-back.
Badgers won't win, Florida got pretty much destroyed by UK a couple of weeks ago, the Ville stands a chance let's pray that doesn't happen but even if it does we should be ahead of them considering they are ranked 26th in the country right now and we are 9th...not gonna get a 3 over us. I would say there is no chance in hell FSU wins the ACC tourney either. Badgers are the only one that give me any concern.
won't be surprised if MU gets a 5 seed...
5 seed? ill have what youre having. 3/4 seed. no chance in hell at 5

He/she's a Badger fan who also predicted we saw our team's last win of the season when we won at West Virginia after our loss to Cincinnati. If it was a poster who had half a clue what he was talking about saying we should worry about getting a 5 seed I may do just that, but him/her saying it only gives me entire confidence we will be a 3 seed.
Is it possible that madtownwarrior isn't a Marquette fan? I've seen two or three outwardly negative posts lately. Some, including that above where he is just talking crap. What the unnatural carnal knowledge dude?
Find your own fucking forum to post on, you loser.

Not a chance. 3 or a 4, probably a 3.

9 Baylor if they win tomorrow
10 Georgetown?
11 Wisconsin if they win tournament?
12 ?
That got tough after 8 or 9. I have my MU colored glasses on, but I'm thinking we should be a 3. I think we should be one of the four picked out of Baylor/Georgetown/Michigan/Wisconsin/Murray St/Marquette. Certainly a 4 at worst.
Joey bracket has us the 3 in the Midwest. I really like that guy. Not sure if that is before or after the games on the 9th....

You think it got tough after the 8/9 spots, try sorting out 42-52. There will be some simply bad teams in this tournament. But I agree that we're still pretty solid for a 3. Baylor's win over Kansas was huge, definitely the most significant to impact our seeding yesterday. I can see Cincy climbing as well, they rocketed up with the win over Syracuse, but have a hard time seeing them higher than the 4/5 lines even if they win today. The committee tends to punish teams for playing soft schedules. Honestly, it's one reason I could see Missouri surprising some and only getting a 3. They had a weak non-con.
While everything that we read points to MU hanging on to a 3 seed .. I think everyone is underestimating MU's ability for getting screwed.
Sure, the numbers indicate a 3, but the selection committee then has all their crazy guidelines .. don't want conference rivals meeting up the first weekend .. don't want teams who played eachother that year .. desire to have good story-lines about matchups .. need some way to get Duke as a 1-2 seed with an easy path, playing in their home state.
Somehow, Marquette will drop to a 5 seed, playing in the NCAA's first global game in Uganda.

Um how does Georgetown get in front of us? Did everyone forget they lost too? Jeez some of you are getting to worried. Remember all but 6 teams will LOSE before the tourney.
However, as a fan of not an elite/big state program - I won't be surprised if we get screwed.
I would swap Georgetown with Michigan and put a question mark there. I think we are in front of Georgetown, but Michigan may be a coin flip. The scary thing is that it's only the committee's opinion that matters. It will be interesting to see the seeds 1-68 after the selection show, especially if we end up a 4.
4 at best with getting pasted 2 out of last 3... NCAA committee may screw them to a 5...
by the way, long time season ticket holder and hate the badgers...
Just not a homer as most here... I highly doubt they get a 3...

I do not agree with those questioning your "fandom". That does get old. The bolded part, though, struck me. As of late you have become the anti homer. A doom and gloomer. Negative Nelly. Do you have lemon tree's in your back yard to keep the bitter taste alive?
Realism is somewhere between the Homer and your current perspective. Just enjoy the ride, this has been a fun season and it continues tomorrow and beyond!

I'd usually try disputing this, but it's just not worth it. Some people like to post without actually saying anything of substance to back up what they say. Instead, I'll just sum up this post:

No, not at all. I just feel like I've said the same things over and over and now all that's left pretty much is to wait for Selection Sunday. Some people are going to try to convince us all that we're a 4 at best and probably slipping to a 5 no matter how much the empirical evidence disputes that. Honestly, I'm almost surprised we haven't heard anyone saying "ZOMG, if teams X, Y, and Z all win today, we'll fall to a 6-seed!".
What can I say...I've beaten my head against that same wall too many times to try to keep arguing with people that are clearly irrational...
...and when I say clearly irrational, I mean even more irrational than me being upset about us getting dumped from the Big East tourney ;D
Although I personally don't like the RPI, which I wish would RIP, the committee seems to put great stock in it.... and that will only help us. Even with our loss we are currently 9th in the RPI. How does that translate to a #5 seed?
We probably won't even make the tourney. I just hope we can avoid the play in games.

The good news about Marquette playing in the Uganda pod is that mug644 will be able to attend the game...

No reason for MU to be a 5. Maybe a three depending on how the weekend plays out.

Yeah Joey Brackets has us in his Last 4 In. Have to pray some bubble teams like NC State don't get big wins today.

I wasn't trying for a real ranking. I was trying to name 12 teams that could possibly be put ahead of us. The whole point was that I had to really stretch to find even 11 teams ahead of us. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but I think we should be a 3. A 4 at worst - there aren't 16 teams that should be placed ahead of us.

No, I say we go for the CBI, or whatever tourney it is that you pay to play in and the championship is decided by a best of 3.
