I fully understand the one game at a time philosophy and not get ahead of ourselves. That said, to all you younger fans dream big for this team and look ahead. Not often does MU have a chance to win a national championship and when they do....live every moment of it.
This is not some crazy fan talking here. Virtually every talking head from Bobby Knight, Jay Bilas and Seth Davis thinks we can make the FF. From today until end if season I recommend all fans too young to remember Al and the boys to enjoy the run. The Big East tourney is a step along the way to bigger things.
All I can say is dream big...someone has to win the thing, why not us?
Watching UNC-Duke right now, and they're head and shoulders above us.
UNC is dominant. Duke is beatable but possess the interior players we lack.

With all due respect I like our chances better than Butler's the last two years. The best team does not always win and this team has a swagger about them.
UNC has always been 1 of the 2 teams that fear me most(UK). Watching them today really ups that fear. As for Duke? I am even less worried of them.
We played them great on a neutral floor last year. When they had Singler, Smith and Irving. That team right there was far better. They couldnt stop Davante, they cant stop UNC's transition. I think we can out run them
Thats why I am glad UNC is winning. If we end up a 3 seed(still hoping we win BET for a 2) then Id like to get a crack a 2 seeded Duke.
I'd be scared of UK with all that talent and Davis inside.

Why are they so afraid of you?

I don't agree on Duke, but UNC is miles ahead of us. I appreciate Goose's excitement and anything can happen on any given day, but there are a few teams in the elite and then there is the next tier where we are. UNC would smoke us just like this did last year. I want no part of that draw.
Hoop
No doubt UNC, UK and several other times are above the rest. My point is simple, we have a team that has a swagger and knows how to win and that usually plays well in March. Obviously we are not going to need some luck to win the whole thing but if we do the talking heads would not be shocked. When was the last time a slew of experts thought we had FF potential?
I stick to me post and dream big..it does not come around often.
There are two teams I don't see a way for MU to beat, Kentucky and UNC. Nobody in the B1G scares me. So it is OK to dream big and hope that somebody else takes care of those two colossuses. (collossi?) This doesn't mean I think MU's a lock for anything past the first round. But if Gardner can give 15 mpg like he did yesterday....yeah, MU can do some damage.
Tower
My whole point is I do think we are a lock for a long run because this team has proven it all year. It just seems to me that everybody always sets the bar so fricking low and either accepts crap or doesn't enjoy the run. I hope everyone enjoys the run and expects great things.
I'm not a dreamer. I accept that MU is very good. I'm one of the people who doesn't lose their mind after a loss. And if MU plays to their ability, they can go far. I'm also realistic enough to accept that there are bad matchups and refs with blurry vision and quick whistles. And there may be a hole that MU can't dig out of.
Buzz got the team to adjust with life without CO, but it took a while (losing 3-4). We are still vulnerable to teams with multiple mobile bigs. Or guards who like to attack the rim with impunity. But this does nothing to diminish my joy with this team or optimism about (A) the tourney and (B) the next few years.
Gentlemen, in 1977 we were FAR from being the best team in the country. That's why March Madness is so special. Of course MU is capable of winning it all. As a 2-3 seed, you're right in the conversation. And frankly, that's why NCAA basketball is more fun than football. Because in the end only one team gets the trophy earned the old fashioned way.

The way MU played after Al's announcement, you are correct. Talent wise, though, I would disagree. They were ranked 2nd, I believe in preseason polls. Had Al not announced when he had, who knows how the season would have played out. It seemed to me that they started to play to their talent during that run.

Perfect analysis.
