The legend grows.
I absolutely loved it and approve.
That was fantastic...though afterwards, my fiancee said "that's what you look like" when she saw Buzz dancing. I don't think it was a compliment ;D
Those kids behind Rafferty were PISSED! Ha. Love it.

And the home crowd gives him the saluting AL treatment!
F' em. They're leaving the BEast anyway!
Atta boy Buzz!
Not a fan. I love Buzz and he probably didn't mean any disrespect. But that moonshine-runner, cousin-marrying student section looked like they were actually going to kill him.
Country Road! Take me home!
that made my night....
:)
I don't think buzz ever means that to disrespect someone, but it can come off quite bad.
Their students threw stuff on the court, they deserved it!
Needs to show a bit more class. Looked pretty stupid but it can't bother me much because we won lol.
Dancing on their grave
I thought it was fucking phenomenal.
If ever a moment deserved a "unnatural carnal knowledge me, what we just did was amazing" type dance steps, it was right then and there.
Well done, Buzz.
Way to go Buzz! Great moves!
CLASSIC
Let's consider that the Big East's wave goodbye to WVU!
Thought it was awesome, they're leaving the Big East any way, screw em.
Check out Gary Parrish's tweets on it, fantastic stuff.
Love it.
The only thing I think Buzz should have done along with his mea culpa was just say "Hey, I love that song! It makes me want to dance!"
It was fun to watch on TV, but ...
Do imagine what people on this board would be writing right now if Huggins/Pitino/Bo/Brey or any other opposing coach had done the exact same thing on our floor after beating us in a one-point game.
Buzz apologized afterward on TV because he knew it wasn't very classy. He is supposed to set a sportsmanship example and he should have been better than that.
He coached an amazing game today, though. Completely, totally outcoached Huggy Bear.

Yup, Crowder is Big East POY
http://yfrog.com/5bes8z
Buzz suspended half his team for the first half and Marquette is still winning at West Virginia with less than 4 to play.
RT @MUHoopsCBSinger: @GaryParrishCBS This is one of the wildest games I've ever seen. They had 6 active players for first half.
@ToddMashburn Buzz is a trip. I loaded him up on Central BBQ last week when he was in town.
I'm down with this. RT @jeffborzello: By the way, Jae Crowder = Big East POY.
Buzz is gonna murder at least two players if they lose this game. One will be DJO.
Oh crap. Buzz is dancing to Country Road. The West Virginia students are trying to get him.
They were really trying to get him. So funny. RT @DonCheech: @GaryParrishCBS that was pretty great. Those fans heads were about to explode
I enjoyed this a lot more than the last time I remember a coach dancing at the end of a Marquette game. Dick Vitale was dancin' on the court at the Milwaukee Arena in '77 when Detroit's Dennis Boyd hit a 20-footer at the buzzer for a 64-63 win. It made the loss all the more painful. So hopefully Buzz did the same tonight for Jed Clampet's relatives.

Andy Glockner tweet "All that's left for Buzz to do is wheel out a couch and set it on fire."
Sportscenter bashing Buzz for the dance.
Probably not a good idea so close to the logo.

A Chicos sighting in the WVU Scout board thread!
Walk it out Buzz, walk it out
:o
If I saw an opposing coach do that at the BC, I would be pissed. That said, it was not an opposing coach doing that at the BC, but it was Buzz doing it - so I thought it was great!!!
I've rewound it on my DVR probably a dozen times now, I have zero problem with it. ESPN called him over to the announce table, he's pumped and jacked up (watch his high fives with Larry Williams at the table), Country Road is blaring on the PA, he's walking (probably doesn't realize he's near the WVU logo, but not on it) and he relishes the moment, does a two step, gives Raft a wink as he walks up to the announce table, smiles at the students, it was a fantastic moment.

You got that right, hoss. I was there that night, too, and believe me, that dukie-loving, irish-loving bonehead has done nothing right ever since! (There, I feel better now.)

Were you also there when Dickie V. grabbed his own neck in a choking motion? That was better.

He is nothing but class. The guy won a great game. Enough of the PC bullish##. Buzz is a keeper. WVU deserves everything they get for leaving the BE. I love it!!!

Did ya get lucky at the Midwinter?
Always... now if we could get you old timers to consider new technology, things would be perfect.
ESPN's title summary:
"Marquette Rallies To Dance Past WVU" ;D
Thanks Scoop Resources. Love these jack holes' anger

I'm down with new technology. Its the old farts who don't want to upgrade ($$$) to digital rays, CAD/CAM, Eagle, etc.
Sportscenter announcers much much lighter on Buzz on the second version of sportscenter. also, buzz apologized AGAIN first thing in his press conference. and admitted he didn't realize it was a song that referenced West Virginia

About as sincere an apology as someone could offer. Buzz knows it wasn't the best thing to do. Go get ready for Cincy.
Just awesome, he can do whatever he wants, looked good doing it too
On to the next!
Buzz rockin' a mustache in the post-game presser. He didn't have that during the game..did he?

Funny how they play up some kind of macho storyline of Huggy wanting to punch Buzz's face in for antics like that when less than 24 hours ago they were clearly chummy and tight on Coach Huggins' radio show.
Not to turn this to a former coach, but wasn't much made of Crean having feuds w/ Pitino or Bo? Was there anything ever to substantiate that either?
That dance will go down in Marquette lore. If WVU didn't like it, they should have found a way to win when MU holds out four of its best players for a half.

I love it because what other coach in the country is going to do that? Imagine Coach K, or Calhoun, Dixon, Bo...no one. For all the robot/coach speak that is out there today, it's refreshing to see someone like Buzz.
Plus I don't mind Buzz getting the last dance as the door hits West Virginia on the way out of the Big East.
Have seen Buzz dance twice. Not ready to see him on Dancing with the Stars, but IMHO, he can dance anytime he wants to!!
Anyone able to describe what they said about it on Sportscenter? Sounds like they came down on it hard at first and then lightened up. Did anyone watch?
I'll just point out this classy show from Flowers at ND
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXskJL-SK2Q
This is clearly taunting - Buzz's wasn't directed at the students at all, IMO

Yep. In Feb. '75, Vitale got tossed for his antics while disputing a call, maybe basket interference, and then he went totally berserk! He took his jacket off and threw it on the court while he was ranting and raving. I thought the guy was gonna have a heart attack and die on the spot. Finally, the refs had security come down and literally drag him away so the game could continue. Complete nut job! MU won by about 20 pts., so it was just a sideshow.
I liked this quote from the WVU board
"Buzz Williams is a great coach, even better than his predecessor Tom Crean. Does anyone actually believe that an idiot can coach a team that well?"
