That was painful.
Oh bull. What was so painful about it? I thought the guys played pretty good under the circumstances
Yeah. Don't know what to think right now. I will say this, if MU wins and DJO scores all the 2nd half points, the SOtG is Jae Crowder.
Anyone who thinks D. Wilson is a viable future starter is out to lunch.
I'm not sure what you mean by worth it, but if it embarrassed the suspended players and they decide to buck up, then yes it was worth it.

He's a freshman, playing a ton of minutes, in a pinch, on the road. CALM DOWN.

Not even close.
The proof will be in the pudding - if the first-half suspended guys come out and go nout it will be worth it. They didn't look too broken up on the bench in the first half.

LONG way to go with D. Wilson.

Or J-Wilson. Given the circumstances, he played a fantastic half. 8 points/2 rebounds and held Kilicli to 4 points/1 rebound on 1-4 shooting.
(I know that Jae had a great half and held Kevin Jones to reasonable numbers. I'm just saying.)

Actually agree. Buzz is the coach, and he's in charge. Players screwed up, got punished, and they deserved it. We made the best chicken salad out of chicken s*** in that first half.

1+
Suspensions are given for a reason.
These kids have to swallow the bitter pill and accept the reality that they will have to fight for EVERYTHING in this game.

Agree. WVU is no pushover and they have the potential BE POY. We haven't won there in the last four, they hit a few threes, are big, and need a win. I'm relatively happy with the performance.

It felt like two freshmen and a sophomore averaging .8, .8, and 1.2 PPG blew away their season averages in minutes in the first half. We've been down a lot worse with full strength.

Worse defensively than offensively. He didn't attempt a shot (read: "didn't miss a shot"), had more assists than turnovers, and even managed 3 rebounds. Not awful for a freshman playing serious minutes against a good team and a hostile crowd.
Giving up 15 to Truck isn't what I like to see, but Bryant is good and he hit some long 3's to pad those stats.
Probably an overreaction. Not Wilson's best half, but that could have gone a lot worse. That actually gives me a lot of hope for when he's an upperclassman.
At least Mayo isn't allowed to play in the second half. Although that was a pretty nice dunk.
Tell me, ATL, what you liked about D. Wilson's performance in the first half.

Mayo could not find that rim - sans the dunk. 1st time we averaged more TOs than assists.

You're a fool. He's a far better prospect than Junior was at a similar stage. I remember being aghast at Junior when he burned his red shirt and played in his first game. I still don't think he's a high major point guard. Wilson is.
If nothing else, we learned how to play with a short bench. Now to show WVU how much better we are when we have three more starters available.
Dwilson did not bother me. Just missing that aggressiveness that Junior, Vander and DJO bring every night.
Lets kick some ASS now
D. Wilson did not take a shot. Missed the front end of a one and one. Had three assists, three rebounds, two turnovers and three fouls in his first start on the road.

Well, he's one of 6 guys who was allowed to be on the court. He should have looked to score.

Wilson started in Madison since that was Cadougan's first suspension.
so much for DJO coming out strong to atone for the suspensions
fouls and a blown dunk...

Nice name calling, Puerto Rican. What are you 12 years old? And if you think Wilson's a better prospect than Junior -- a point guard with creativity, vision and passing ability -- than you must have the IQ of a houseplant.

I don't think it. I know it. Junior was Niv Berkowitz the first time he hit the court. Wilson led a win over Wisconsin.
Probably the most moronic post I've read. You don't know squat if you equate Junior to Niv!
Playing the Niv card...TAKE THAT!
Every player treated fair! Thought BLUE and CROWDER were the studs.

Go take a look at Juniors first game at MU. Niv's first appearance was much, much better.
Junior was a highly ranked PG. Niv was NOT! Junior didn't play his first game into well into the 2nd semester, after being hurt and unable to practice for most of the season. He was incredibly rusty. How else would you expect him to play? AGAIN...MORONIC!

There isn't one coach in the country who thinks Derrick Wilson is a better prospect in any way than Junior Cadougan.

I thought you gave up postin' for Lent.
Murs, while Derrick did a job on Taylor defensively, in 20 minutes he failed to either score or record an assist. Blue was our de facto PG that game.
It absolutely was. And I think that DWilson, JJones, and Juan actually deserve some props. They went out there and competed their a$$e$ off. Their defense was more than adequate. Their efforts kept MU in the game. Next year, they start making shots. Last night, each and every one of them was the frickin man.
Junior is an incredible player.
