Broke team rules.
Do we have enough players for that?
DJO, Junior and Vander won't play 1st half.
Mayo won't play 2nd half.
DJO/JC/VB will not start
Wilson, Mayo, Jamail, Wilson and Jae will start.
What is wrong with these guys?
Why can't Buzz let the guys get away with anything, just like the Badger fans say
I give Buzz credit...Due has balls!!
Glad to hear!
This will make it easier to go down double digits.
Maybe incorrect. DJO/Caddy/VB might not play first half.
How do you get in trouble in West Virginia?
Todd is from WV, right?
I wonder if he talked to Pat Knight.

If they were truly in violation of team rules and worth disciplining, then so be it.

HOWEVER, if you are truly "glad" to hear that four of our players are out for a hugely important conference road game, then you are a psychopath.
Big blow for Todd, lots of family in attendance.

We don't know where, when or how anything happened.
W T F ?-(
late for practice
Frozena's coming back to fill in for them? ;D
Pretty sick and crazy when a double bye is at stake.
Huggie probably took them out to show 'em a good time.
Thats messed up, what is this the fourth time this year
WOWZA.
Players to sit due to rules violations
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/140381883.html
The ESPN Bracket Bound app on my phone is reporting that DJO, Junior, and Vander will miss the first half.
Doesn't mention Mayo.
HOWEVER, if you are truly "glad" to hear that four of our players are out for a hugely important conference road game, then you are a psychopath
Why because i'm not oblivious and know some players are arrogant and think they're above other people and rules?! If they were late for a cerfew by 10 minutes i'd have no problem with this. Guess mom and dad didn't coddle me, so i agree with Buzz. I trust our coaches judgement on and off the court.
If that makes me wrong for being "glad to hear" that Buzz has the nuts to come down on these kids, well than I'm wrong. Perhaps they should follow the rules and this wouldn't have happened. They're only hurting themselves and possibly there seeding. Tough $ hit, do what you're expected to do, and you don't have to worry about this happening.
I don't even know what to say about this :-\ Obviously Buzz isn't afraid to suspend guys, WTF would they do that would put them in this situation?
So first half, we have Jae, Jamil, Mayo, Wilson, Jamail, and Juan? That's it? I hope we don't get in any foul trouble. And no DG? This could get ugly in a hurry if the refs are trying to keep it tight.
A Marquette spokesman has announced that Darius Johnson-Odom, Junior Cadougan, and Vander Blue will not play in the first half against West Virginia due to an undisclosed violation of team rules.
Also, Todd Mayo will not play in the second half due to a violation of team rules.
The starting lineup will consist of Jae Crowder, Jamil Wilson, Jamail Jones, Derrick Wilson and Mayo.
This is BS, just cost Jae the chance for POY.
Did anybody hear the ESPN anchor call Buzz Williams 'Buzz Peterson' just now?
Jimmy Mac said Mayo has to sit out the 2nd half
Enlund has the Mayo thing as well.
Or jae could cement POY by leading us to victory.
Good for Buzz.
Crap Burr.
Mayo may not get to the 2nd half.
Great, call it a bit tighter
4 suspensions, 2 injured players, is Father Wild playing tonight?
What fuckiin clowns.
Whay it happened during the Tourney...
Inexcusable. DJO and Cadougan pulled this crap earlier in the year and obviously didn't learn their lesson. Blue needs to grow up and be a model citizen after the Vander Orange crap from last year. Todd should be seizing the opportunity to play in front of family and friends, not sit with them in the second half. They should be embarrassed. Support Buzz 100% for doing what he feels he has to.
Best of luck to Jae, Jamil, Derrick, Jamail, and Juan. Hopefully they can rise to the challenge and be leaders.
This is gonna be a strange game, rotations are all screwed up

What frackiin clowns.
Most disappointed in DJO and Junior. A Senior and Upper upperclassman. They should know better. So should Blue and Mayo, but DJO is and Junior are leaders.
If they stop making stupid early error and fouls, keep the game within 10 by half, then they can do this.
Whoops, Mayo has two and now Wilson has two fouls. So much for that.
How can people make judgments on supporting Buzz, etc, when they have no idea what the hell happened? Its likely that the suspensions were deserved for good reason, but talk about blind faith to just throw yourself behind suspensions with literally no information.
the suspensions are a major embarrassment...
now if they also play like crap due to the suspensions - it will be a double embarrassment on national TV
Quote from: MUMac on February 24, 2012, 08:05:10 PM

Well he has 5 to give in the first half.
Well, if anyone voted for DJO for player of the year, they are as much of an a$$ as he is. I have lost most respect for him.
Quote from: jtrash37 on February 24, 2012, 08:03:18 PM

totally agree. Good for him. Can't believe Cadougan did this again after missing the Wisconsin game.
I consider a 10 pt game at half a win for us
This is the craziest thing I have ever seen, picking halves to sit certain players. Either they play or don't play the whole game

Don't forget Odom. He's been suspended as well this season.
I don't see good for anyone in this situation. The players are clowns because they don't care about the punishment and the coach looks clownish because his punishments obviously show no results.

When was DJO suspended before? I must've missed that

Yes, what were the earlier suspensions for?
And need to be fair to WV. If all 4 are suspended the whole game, WV win would be meaningless.

Agreed. It will be interesting to see if this is a full game suspension - which would mean a half again at Cincy.
This group is playing hard and staying with WV starters. Great experience for the newer guys and has benefits for tourney play. Jamil Wilson showing something in particular.

would not have enough players to field a team

No but they are, for all intents and purposes, untested. Impressed with their response for a primetime game on ESPN in one of the most hostile environments to play in.

No one's arguing about coddling, or following the rules, Helen Lovejoy.
Most people can make the distinction between being disappointed, but ACCEPTING of players being punished, and being GLAD, as in HAPPY, that players are punished, like some sort of masochist. Guess that makes you the "Silas the Monk" of this board. I reiterate, there is something truly mentally wrong with you, if you are HAPPY that players are out.

A lot of coaches pull the "will not start" line and have them in at the first media timeout.
Wide spread rumor on campus that this has nothing to do with being late to practice. More like trouble in a bar in Milwaukee.

That wouldn't be shocking given their past.
And not announcing it earlier is just smart on Buzz' part.
Little bit irritated to see the 3 suspended players smiling and laughing at times on the bench. Maybe I am overreacting because I am really mad that they would do something at this point to get suspended.

Could not agree more, it is irritating me, too. They all better play out ofntheir minds in the second half.
As much as we want to praise Buzz for his strictness and blame the players for suddenly acting stupid, I have a gut feeling the players are acting the same they did last year but now the University is throwing down the hammer on the team this season. I don't think the players are acting worse than last year, rather Buzz wasn't as strict last year.
How can everyone be so judgmental without knowing what happened? ?-( Perhaps they used a Windsor knot and Buzz decreed Shelby knots!?!

Disagree. Crawling into a hole and pouting isn't the way to support your teammates. Stay loose, keep the mood light. Now the team has to win the game in the second half, but it's on those three to not lose the game.

With a smile as wide as I've ever seen from Odom just before the tip, I'd expect a 20 pointer in this half.
On the outside, none of them seemed bothered by what took place in that opening 20.
Suspension related to wine, woman and song. Of course in West Virginia that would be moonshine, sheep and a banjo...

Only Jae and Jamil are "warm" for the 2nd half.

My point is that they aren't getting the message if they don't look bothered sitting on the bench.
I agree the game is now on those three not to lose.
This is at least the third, maybe fourth suspension this season. It is obvious to me that Buzz has gotten a message that he better rein his team in and no longer will incidents go unpunished that result in embarrassment to the university.

So based on your video interpretation capabilities could you rewatch the Zapruder film and tell me if Oswald acted alone??
Well the Big East POY candidate list just got one player shorter. DJO can't get suspended for a game and considered POY.
Can I revise my prediction thread entry?
