MU should run a commercial right after that stating:
Attention all recruits! Come star at Marquette and you could be the next Dwyane Wade (or at least the next Steve Novak)!
Are they gonna refer to Marquette as the "Harvard of the Midwest"?
Can they crop out that guy in the middle?

Come on, take it easy on the Grimm Reaper.

That basketball is way too large to just be coverin' up his junk. Probably hidin' his vagina too.

Man, Crean gets bashed for not ever having height, but that back row goes 6'8, 6'8, 6'10, 6'10, 6'10, 6'10, 6'7.

Nah, just high blood pressure.
You think it's a coincidence that team performed the way it did in the tournament?
Also, who was #42? A walk-on?

I was thinking the exact same thing - they looked very high school.
Yeah, Andy Freund. Played somewhere local...maybe tosa east or marquette high.
That team had a hella high traditional-ratio.

Looks like he's setting a screen in the photo. A still frame of Grimm setting a screen...the irony, totally messing with my mind.

To be fair to TC, this photo was probably taken in August or September, so he and Joanie had the whole summer to tan the natural (though let's hope not au naturel - terrible mental image) way. Plus the old gym's lighting would be favorable for his aspirational "Mediterranean" complexion. But let's talk about the real story this year -- his hair. It looks like the mutant offspring of Jon Stewart and F. Scott Fitzgerald. That said, the boring unis are far more embarassing to Marquette. Thank god that's in the past.
wow... remember these guys practicing at the old gym?? now they are in a $30 million dollar state of the art facility...
ROTC used to split time with them in the mornings, D Wade, R Jax, Diener would roll in after us to start practice. crazy to see how far the program has come since then...
Wade in the old gym.

When was the "Al" first added to jerseys? I thought it was much more recent until this shot of #3.

Al passed in early 2001. I believe the "Al" was added either later that season or for the 01-02 season.
I believe they wore a patch the rest of the season and the following year it was permanently added to the jersey. I could be off though (sophomore year, too much drinking).

I believe you are correct. It was a black patch the first year, if I recall correctly. On the shoulder.

Yeah, that is what I remembered. Glad I'm not going crazy.
