I guess Marquette isn't the only one with this rule. Looks like the students were not expecting security to stop them.

great form on the tackle of the kid in the second clip
Meh, let the kids have their fun.
I hate when kids rush the court. If Georgetown would have been ranked #1, then i could see it. Beyond that, no way.

They have film of the students. Pick them out and each one should be expelled and jailed!!!
was watching a game recently that had an unwarranted court rushing. i wanna say it was long beach st. @ creighton.
Having been to Newark before for a Marquette game, can't say that I blame them. That said, let them celebrate with the team.

I don't know if Marquette would (or could) actually hold our fans back like that. We got passed the security barricades a bunch of times, but the real problem is the 10 foot foot jump down to get to the court. The crowd losses a lot of momentum there. :D

i'm pretty sure the bradley center security would never let the students rush the floor under nearly any circumstances.

We did it at least once in the Bradley Center in either 2002 or 2003. I was shitfaced and crowdsurfing. It couldn't have been a dream.
Happened '02 and '03 against Cincy and then again in '04 against Louisville.
Fans? I didn't even know there were any fans at that game. I felt like they weren't a factor at all while watching it at home. Maybe that's the problem, though.
it was after the '03 cincy/clinch-of-cusa win and court rush that the BC implemented the barricade and small army of security policies they have now. It once was 'easy' and now it's much much harder. I'd be amazed if we see a court rush for any win at the BC unless those security policies change.
The barricades and army of blue-blazers have been there since at least the mid-90's. We were physically beat back a few times when I was there. I think they just let it go for Cincy in '03 because it clinched the conference championship. That one wasn't as much a "storming", it was more of an orderly procession.
