Title: Does a Rutgers win help us at all?
Post by: real chili 83 on February 19, 2012, 01:19:53 PM
Rutgers is making a game of it against Syracuse at home.  Down by 2 with 14 min.  Does this help us at all if they pull the upset?

Sure. It takes MU's chances of winning a share of the Big East regular season title from non-existant to slim. Lotta golf left to play in this one though.

Sure, of course it does. If you believe MU will run the table the rest of the way(I do), and if Cuse loses today, and then would lose once more(most likely, @ Uconn or home vs. UL), then MU would be co- champions of the Big East. You think the BC would be rocking even more on Senior Day, if that is known that a win will give them a co-championship??

Doris is giving Jae some love again in the Syracuse game, comparing his leadership to Jardine's.

Make that 8 minutes to go.  The RAC is a tough place to win.

Rutgers down 4 but will be shooting two coming out of the under 4 timeout.

Looks like Cuse will escape the RAC with a win.  Aside from the very slim chance of a share of the regular season championship, not much else it would have done for us.  Rutgers won't get in the RPI top 100 either way, and based on the RPI calculation we'd rather the team we played on the road get the win than the team we play at home.

Scoop Jardine willed 'Cuse to victory.  Let's hope all the Rutgers emotion is now spent.  They played a helluva game.
