Yup, that guy has some issues....I think not having Calhoun to keep these guys under control helps.
Thanks for the "improper benefit", Boatwright! ;D
they all had something to say...shows why they aren't wining games. They don't play as a team, there is no leadership, THEY DON'T HIGH FIVE!!!
Great Win Today!

Ahahahahaha I caught that ignored high five too. Wonder if it will get its own thread on the UConn boards?
Scoreboard!
Was at the game and had no idea what was going on vis a vis the tech. Was in fact very worried that the 14 point half-time lead was down to 4.
Got to wonder - what in hell could Boatwright have been going on about?
"Hey, A-hole, you guys are only up 4!" Talk about stupid.
Getting the 2 free throws, then Jae's 3 was like manna from heaven.
But in all fairness, it's hard to put that on Blaney - the same thing could have happened with Calhoun there.

I don't think Calhoun would have reacted the same as Blaney. I was surprised that Boatright was back out after the Timeout. I thought he would/should sit for a while. I don't watch Calhoun closely, but I would have expected he would have talked to Boatright and had him sit for a moment. You knew at the time it was huge in the game.
Being at the game, did you stay through the end. Did you see anything between the players after the game?

I didn't realize it was that chippy. Did something happen that I missed that makes you wonder if anything happened after the game?

ESPN made a comment and had a picture about words exchanged between the players after the game. I have not seen it anywhere else, since. Was just wondering if ESPN was manufacturing something out of nothing or if it really took place.
I give TONS of credit to Mayo. While Boatright was shooting off his mouth, Mayo stayed totally focused and calmly walked to the bench. Outstanding maturity by the Frosh. Kid has the full package and appears ready, willing and able to make himself a great player, not simply believe that he already is.
Jsglow i agree. Love you todd keep it going

Dude, this isn't Twitter.
At the end of the telecast, you can see Boatright yapping at Cadougan.
UConn is the Illinois of the B-East. Tons of raw talent, don't play as a team and an absent coach.
They showed a clip of what happened at the end of the game. As the teams were going through the lines at the end, mayo said something as boatright passed. Boatwright turned around and started to yell at mayo as mayo continued to walk away. That was all espn showed and I couldnt tell what either said. It looked like mayo said a few words and it set boatright off. Judging from the earlier episode, doesn't take much to set that kid off.

Mayo must have said that Boatright would be the SOTG on MUScoop today!

How great is it that Mayo's living rent free in Boatright's head after just 40 minutes?
Biggest thing from this in the short term was that the T and 3 gave momentum back to MU and greatly helped us win.
Biggest thing from this in the long term is that hopefully when Buzz shows the team the film, he reminds them about the impact of losing one's cool during a game. We're having fun with Boatright here, but a couple of MU players have been T'd up this season, and as good as we are, we aren't good enough to do this in the NCAAs.

The Ts I remember were a few hanging on the rim calls and Jae's famous throat slash that frankly emotionally symbolized what he had just done to the opponent. I really don't recall any taunting of the opponent directly to his face but my memory could be off.
And the hanging on the rim call yesterday from Vander was on the missed alley-oop with 20 seconds left...and the only reason he hung on was to tip the rebound out. Pretty harmless.
This team is very mentally strong.
Toward the end of the game, with UCONN on the line..Jae grabbed the missed FT attempt in the middle of the lane and walked right up to Napier and gave him a few words, and continued when he went back to his spot on the block. LOVED IT. Napier seems like a cocky SOB, and in my view, Jae pretty much let Napier know he was the Man.
As Buzz has said, Jae is the heart and soul of the team...

A little earlier, with Jae on the line - it may have been after he was fouled on the three - Jae was talking to one of the UConn players. Jae seemed irritated and backed off the line (with the help of a teammate). Jae then said something to the MU bench. The camera cut to Buzz, who said, "I don't care, leave them alone."
I liked the fact that Buzz was staying on top of it and trying to keep his players out of trouble... even though Jae said something to Napier a little later. Buzz pulled Jae and DJO right after that.

great analogy! i'll have to write that one down. when calhoun see's that one, he'll have boatright on latrine duty
Boatright has been a head case since he was in middle school. It doesn't take much to get him rattled.
No Mac, didn't catch the byplay, but I was a ways away from the court.
I think Beaver should be SOTG.
