I watched this game last night and thought some folks may be interested in this:

Taylor put up 11 and 11 - played great defense on Alexander from Curie.  Parker sat out the entire second quarter with two fouls.  Nunn looked great as well.

Playoff game yesterday.

If not for Steve Taylor, the top-ranked Wolverines (27-1) would have trailed for most of the first quarter. Taylor made five of his first six shots while the rest of his teammates went 0-for-9 to start the game. That helped to stake Simeon to a 12-8 lead at the end of the quarter. He would finish with 16 points and 10 boards

Nunn looked great as well.

I am really geeked about Taylor, he seems like the ideal manifestation of Buzz' desire for a switchable player.  But man, would getting Nunn (somehow) also be REALLY REALLY awesome.

Simeon junior guard Kendrick Nunn (16 points) drilled a 3-pointer to open the offensive floodgates, igniting a 21-1 run that spilled into a 38-17 lead until Marist ended a 10-possession drought without a field goal. The Wolverines finished with nine steals and eight blocks.

"This is probably the best defensive team since I got into coaching," Smith said. "They can play man-to-man or zone. They just wanted it tonight."

Nunn hit a pair of 3s for nine second-quarter points and Jabari Parker added two thundering dunks, including a slam at the buzzer for a 36-17 halftime lead.

Simeon senior Steve Taylor played one of his best games of the season, dominating both ends of the court. The Marquette recruit had nine points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
