Big 3 of Crowder, Johnson and Blue mentioned in the article.

At least ESPN recognizes Vanders complete game.

Is there a wiki page with all the ESPN Front Page images captured?

A lot of times when there is a front page for Marquette after a big game, I put them on that game's wiki page.

For example....

Man looking at the pictures of the Syracuse game brought back some great memories.

How far Vander has come that he is now being mentioned as part of a 3 pronged attack.  Hard to argue with that since he's been crushing it the past 5 games or so.  More than anyone else he has stepped it up since Gardner went down.  I think the free throws to close out the Villanova game were huge for his confidence.

Right. JWilson has done nothing since Gardner's injury. Have we all lost our minds?

His ability to rebound from the guard position is huge with the big guys out.

I don't think anyone is implying that Jamil hasn't done anything.  He's been tremendous... but in the context of improving the team (i.e. the five players on the court at any given time), Jamil is just picking up where DG left off, at best... he's hasn't improving the 5 for MU -- yet.  Vander has actually improved at his position, which will make the team that much better if/when DG returns, because Vander will be on the floor most of the time when DG is... Jamil won't.  Yes, Jamil will be able to share the load at 5 with DG, which will make MU even better there, but with Vander's development, the 2 has already improved and by virtue of such, has mitigated the loss of our two 5's.

I'll stop here before I confuse myself further.

Vander and jamil have both stepped up in Gardners absence. I don't think anyone was taking away what Jamil has done but just stated that Vander has vastly improved and is playing with confidence and at a level that he should be. At least that's my take. Here is to hoping that this trend continues by both men.

Not sure why a positive comment on this board has to turn into an argument.  Jamil Wilson has played well in Gardner's absence.  But if you are saying that Wilson has stepped up his game more than Vander since Gardner's injury, you are the one who has lost his mind.

It's not really even that close.  Wilson averaged 7.1 points and 3.7 boards in Big East games while Gardner was healthy and has averaged 12 points and 5.5 boards since Gardner has been out.  A nice improvement to be sure.  But Vander has gone from averaging 4.9 and 3.3 prior to the injury to 14.5 and 6.25 since.  This is despite the fact that Wilson has actually played 11 more minutes than Blue since Gardner's injury.  Both have made some nice defensive contributions.

Finally, Wilson actually had two pretty mediocre games after DG's injury against Seton Hall (4-12, 9 pts.) and at Notre Dame (6 points, 3 fouls in 21 minutes) and his stats are skewed by strong performances in blowout wins against DePaul and Cincy.  Vander has been remarkably consistent over the same stretch.  After not scoring in double figures at all in BE play, he has been between 12 and 16 points in each of the last four games and was undoubtedly the catalyst in the Seton Hall game.
