All we get is a mention of being among the clear top 5. Who can challenge Cuse.......Gtown, ND and UL. Blow me.

Did he say that before the Cincy game or after?
For the life of me, I have no idea why some people get so indignant because ESPN doesn't give MU enough love. By and large, their analysts are morons. And much of what they say is scripted ahead of time.
True, but ESPN is the main sports channel and it's always nice to hear them say nice things about your team, especially if we are having a good season. However, Sportscenter doesn't say a whole lot of great things unless you are top 5, UNC/Duke, or a hot mid-major.

Then don't watch it. Unless I am watching a game, I completely stay away from it. It makes my life pretty easy.

Well, we are fans. Fan is short for "fanatic". So this behaviour makes perfect sense to me.

Not really considering they all went off.....and vander did do pretty much exactly what I said. Seton hall game only against a better team and shot 80%

yeah you said someone was going to have a BREAK OUT game....then said it would mean DJO would have 27-30 points to do so...like 27pts would be a coming out party for DJO?
then you went on with "Tell me genious how many games have we had this year where the STOG was pretty much unanimous? That is what Im predicting. Thanks for stopping by Drewbie."
only to pull a 180 a few posts later and say "DJO with 28 5 and 4(50% or better shooting). Jae 25 and 13. Vander 17 7 and 5(60% shooting) or Jamil repeats DePaul but this time against a team that isnt blind."
seems to me you said either everyone will have big games and we'll win, or someone will have a BREAK OUT game and we'll win...good work.
yup so long story short i was not wrong. I win.
And it wasnt a 180 idiot. I was told to give actual predictions/examples on what their breakout games would be. Vander going 14/7/4 at 80% is pretty much=17/7/5 at 60% :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
And considering this was DJO's best shooting game pretty much all conference play long(sans St Johns who sucks and he barely shot) pretty close again. And he did get the assists.
Since everyone seemed to think Cincy's size would murder us for whatever reason there was no reason to think wed paste them. So, I said wed need a huge game from one of those 4. All 4 gave great games and two of them gave very close to what I said.
I win.

Solid philosophy. Problem is I wanted to watch the game where this was mentioned in.

if 28pts is a BREAK OUT game for DJO, or 25 for Jae means the same, you're the idiot. if you think this was a BREAK OUT game for Vander, you're even more of an idiot. i bet you're predicting a republican or democrat win in nov. as well.

How many game does DJO have of 28 points this year...idiot?
Let's substitute "chief" in preference to idiot, shall we?

because scoring 1 or 2 more points at home would be considered a BREAK OUT game after scoring 26 on road a few games ago at Nova.

I did say over 50% shooting at least. And with Cincy being a considerably better team it would be pretty timely.
It's not like DJO regularly goes for 26 throughout his career. He's Mr. Consistency of around 18 pts and went a little above that while all the other guys went above theirs.
And yes, you could defintely argue tonight was Vanders best full game. He was great for that stretch vs Seton Hall which was huge. Winthrop sucks and just gave Vander that dumb label "only plays well against bad non conference teams".

Their opinions are not scripted. I do not think they are morons either. Fact is most of the media does not think MU is "for real". We are missing that big "signature win". Wisconsin looked like it could have been it. Nonetheless, we are 9-3 in the BE and that should account for something.

Yet, people keep talking up wisconsin recently too. And Katz sure as heck listed UL who we beat already. On topic, watched all of college gameday.....we were never shown for highlights. Every other freaking game was shown and Im pretty sure Cuse was shown twice.
During the 1 hour, GameDay pre-game show, the failed to show any highlites of MU's game today. Showed some teams twice, MU, nada....
I saw our highlights on SC twice already.
That is why being ranked matters (despite those that say it does not in the other thread), you're always featured on SC when you play.

Good idea chief.
What is the original point of this thread? That Katz is snubbing us because we are only among the top 5 in the Big East, chasing Syracuse along with Georgetown, Louisville and Notre Dame? Last time I checked we were 1-3 against that group, just got smoked by ND, had our only two post players in street clothes and had 3 of our next 4 games on the road and then GU. And I really wish I hadn't taken the time to read through this thread.
Hairy wet Katz
Geebus, does anybody on this board just enjoy watching Marquette basketball?
Welcome to the board! They all either rip on MU when we lose, on the coach when he moves on or each other when they have nothing better to do!!
Andy Katz talks about marquette praises marquette, and plugs marquette more than any other talking head on espn. Please don't go after him.

Jason King actually praises us the most. And Joe Lunardi is usually always very favorable in his brackets with us.

Well, I would not want to play UL now that Kuric and Wayne Blackshear are now playing. They are a different team than when we played them.

Though not affiliated with ESPN, we must buy a beer (keg?) every game for Jon Wilner. He's showing the most love for us all in the media.
If it wasn't for his high rankings, people may not be talking about Marquette and how high he ranks us.

Same point I made last evening but the post was removed for some reason (for the life of me I cannot figure out why). Your earlier post was on target, too. MU probably isn't resonated with as many n the media as it should because of a lack of a signature win. Some of our wins have been surprisingly close in the final score as well (Villanova twice, Norfolk, Providence, Pitt, Washington, Seton Hall). The win against Wisconsin is our signature win, but they haven't been quite as good as the past. The scoring margin in the LSU, ND and Vanderbilt losses haven't helped.
Just keep winning and we should be fine. I would rather be undersold and under the radar then have a bunch of pub hitting the tournament.
