Option 3: Jamil
votes: 13
Option 4: Junior
votes: 2
Option 5: Blue

I pick DJO today. Great games from all the others. Nice to see Jamail hitting from out too!
DJO with a special nod to Jones for hitting the two 3 pointers at a key time.
DJO has a great game and some amazing plays. Jae seemed to make a bunch of hustle plays and plays at ket times.
I'll go with Jae
Jae. His battle in the trenches against Gates and others was key. He did a bit of everything.
Gotta go with Jae for the best line, but really everyone played well today...
Jae: 23pts, 6reb, 4ast, 2stl, 2blk
Good point guys. I think it's really a toss-up since Jae was doing everything as usual and Darius was making some great plays on offense.
DJO in first half was just amazing. Some of his transition baskets were NBA material.
Jae had his usual second half sensation and Vander had 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Based upon MU's early crapout and DJO taking MU back, I go with DJO.
I'm going DJO with this one. He had some key And 1s in the second half when Cincy was trying to make a run. Also like his 5 assits.
Boy, so many to choose from...DJO as he was a man on fire when we were building the lead.
DJO.
Mac splits it between DJO, Crowder, and Blue.
I voted Jae...but I'm glad we have gotten to the point where a 14/7/4 game by Vander is a quiet game.
DJO and Jae are on a mission, and the rest of the team played pretty well in a good groove

You guys can keep voting for DJO, but you're going to be disappointed when I make it Jae instead. So...do the right thing :)
I voted for Jae but lots of love for all the J-Bros....DJO, Jamil, Junior

Eh, either one works. Don't think that anyone can complain with either choice. I voted for DJO, but could have just as easily clicked Jae.

Some weeks I start a poll if I'm undecided. I didn't start the poll this week :)

Actually, I vote for Jae, but not for his stats or anything while he was on the court...I vote for him because of that brief (luckily) stretch in the second half after he picked up his third foul and went to the bench. The offensive completely stagnated, the defense gave up a couple of bunnies and the lead shrank (slightly). Jae came back in and calmed things down. Vote for Jae.

Way to open the debate even more eintstein. DJO went to the bench with him.
DJO.
Jae.
Jamil
Great game all around. Jae gets the tiebreak from me for standing in and taking the charge on barrelling behemoth Cheek Mudge. Also, great sportsmanship by Jae.

I thought this whole thread was a debate, though I appreciate being compared with 'eintstein' (sic).
I believe that Jae had a bigger impact on the game, and so I vote for him as STOG.
Homer / Mac said for the first time ever .. 3 way tie for MVP.

You based your initial reasoning off the fact the team struggled without him. In reality the team struggled without both it's top two guys.
Is there anyone who did NOT deserve a stud award today - I mean even the subs.
How huge were Jamail's two treys. I mean, once they couldn't leave him alone it opened everything up. Not Stud of the Game of course.
Even though I believe Jae should have been given two earlier on votes, and was close this time, I give it to DJO in a close one just because I thought him taking it at their defense changed the entire tone of the game.
Was that Norman Einstein referred to here?
Jae's game was all-around so i voted for him but would be happy with DJO and Blue in a triumvirate

Fair enough, that is certainly how I phrased it. Bottom line is that I believe that Jae's 'steadiness' was a critical factor to the game. He gets my vote, with absolutely no disrespect to the rest of the team.

And that is a fair opinion both did play great.
My vote is for Jamil. He was the guy that made the full court pressure defense work, and that's what turned the game. Any of Jae, DJO or Jamil good choices.
I voted for Jae. DJO was amazing, but he was playing against guards he was physically stronger than. Jae was playing against players that were bigger and stonger than Jae.
Not trying to cop out, but I could not pick A stud today. To me, it was an entire team effort.
Didn't get to see the game so didn't vote, but got to love Sultan's post about Van - the times, they are a changing.
I honestly can't think of a guy who played meaningful minutes that didn't comtribute. In the end I voted Jae but both Seniors were outstanding.

Not sure that blue was included in the triumvirate. My guess is it was DJO, Jae, and Wilson. Not sure how 10 People voted for blue and 4 for jamil, he was awesome on both sides yet gets less votes. His defense and length with the press was great. That said vander is looking great lately.

When Blue was on the bench, MU struggled rebounding. When he was in, he was active and if he did not get it, either kept it alive or needed to be accounted for. That was a huge difference.
As I said, I thought it was a team effort. If I had to chose from a gouping, it would be DJO and Jae. All, though, really played well together and won as a team.

Don't forget Jamail. Nice game tonight. ;D
I gotta go with Jae over DJO, both had great games and both scored 23, but Jae stuffed the stat sheet and led us also in rebounds and steals
Might have been best all-around team win of the year.
In addition to having a very nice stat line, Jae appeared to be just about everywhere, so he gets my vote by a slim margin over DJO and others.

Actually Vander led in rebounds and Jae was tied with Derrick in steals.
If you look at the box score, you could make a case for someone else but if you watched and paid attention to the game, it's DJO. Without question.

Completely agree. Impressive game by many after the first four minutes.
Complete effort.
D Wilson had 3 steals and a rebound in 4 minutes.

Except guard his man.
As I stated a couple weeks ago, since BE play started Buzz has been turning up the pressure and letting Jae play "free safety" because he realized that Jae's D can be awful in the half-court set. Crowder has been a steals machine, no doubt, but don't let that fool you into thinking he's a good defender. Jae brings a TON to the court and MU would really struggle without him, but his defense is often brutal.
DJO gets my vote, though any of the starting five would be worthy shouts.

And DJO does? His defense was terrible in the half court yesterday.
I vote Jae. He tracks the best statistically. Interestingly enough, second best was Blue, who has now been net positive in every game but the ND game since
What's taking so long. Pick one!
DJO is a defensive liability. He does not give a real effort on the D end. But when gets the ball, the light turns on. His D has improved from last year, but
seems to wonder a lot on D. Mayo and Vander defend much better.
Jae and let's move on.
The masses have spoken, as the poll indicates. Mods, put Jae or Jamil up and let's move on.
Time to post it already
TBD has the most Stud of the Game facetime so far. He looks like a big too. I think we could use a 15 footer, though he looks almost as confused with the basketball as Mbao.
Give us Barabas!
Ha! I was just about to post: "The SOTG was clearly DJO so go ahead and give it to Crowder already." The mods beat me to it.
DJO is probably the most under-appreciated player MU has had in a long time. The guy is a scoring machine that Marquette is desperately going to miss next year.
Also, why bother taking a poll if you don't give the SOTG to the guy who wins the poll?
So I guess it's NOT a democracy.
I'm OK with that - I'm not the one(s) paying for the server. ;)
It's an OUTRAGE! I'm cancelling my........oh. Right. Never mind. Carry on.
Jae was the correct choice. :)
ya not sure why so many people wanted DJO? And no i do not under appreciate DJO!
I think he is great, but in this one game they had the same ammount of points. Crowder had more rebounds, steals, and blocks and only 1 less assist.
I know stats dont tell it all, but really surprised the voting was as decidely for DJO as it was.

I voted for DJO because he put the team on his back in the first half and lead a 24-point swing in under 15 minutes. He then added 10 points and 4 assists in the second half.
Crowder's overall numbers were better but, like you said, stats don't tell it all. He had 5 points, 1 reb, 2 assts in the final 5 minutes when the game was all but over.

It was because we called the Mods out for being hairy wet cats...they wanted to prove they had some stiff in their drink. ;D
A lot of MU's slow starts offensively are due to DJO. For whatever reason he misses shots early. DJO missed three straight shots (maybe 4) while Cincy was jumping out to a 16-4 lead. Once he gets going he is very hard to stop.

But hasn't Jae disappeared totally on the offensive side in the first half of many games? I seem to recall lots of them where he has 0, 2 or 4 points at the half and then wakes up in the 2nd half.
