The reason why we win today....by a lot....
Our chili is better than their chili....by a lot ;D
Go Warriors!!!
Oh, and when we go down by 40 in the first 2 minutes, the sky is not falling. We got 'em right where we want 'em!
Darn, is was trying to work in hairy wet cat somewhere in this post. Seems to be the saying of the day on scoop today!

Steve jobs wont let us. Thanks for the invite.
Looks like an awesome sellout. Isn't there a recruit in the house today?
4 points at 17:33!!!
Another terrible start!!!
Slow start, so we're gonna win now, right?
As we say, "right where we want them."
We look slow
Honestly every gamn game. This is exact proof why Jamil was deserving as STOG over DJO last game. When we suck, DJO is just as much to blame as when we are good
I love Junior's ball security!
There is something fundamentally wrong with Marquette's approach to the start of games.
Rebound anyone?
No energy. Look a little lazy
Bad passes, open threes, offensive rebounds, DJO terrible misses, Junior miss = 16 to 4.
This is not Seton Hall and the crowd is dead.
9 to 1 rebounds. And some said why worry that Gardner is not playing.
Oh boy.......
This again? I wish one of the players would just take a timeout when Buzz lets it go 3 possessions too many and our players don't even get back on defense.
Outrebounded 10-1
The crowd is dead because Cincy scores everytime they get the ball
Please. Not again. I'm too old for this crap.
My God these announcers are so crappy and inarticulate.
Deja Vu all over again!
Well...
And crowd seems fine as long as we are playing good
This is like watching Groundhog Day.
We are blowing chances to get this game back tied. Time for Dwil to hit the bench.
Anderson plays like a frosh. So frustrating.
They play more guys than we do and they have length, blocked 3 shots already
Wilson got shot blocked by Woods. Thats was a great block. Then an easy basket inside. Then Anderson throws inbound ball away. I don't know if Anderson see court again. That really hurt.

Welsh Couldn't Coach either.
While neither is good, if Buzz has to go to the end of the bench I'd rather he go to Jones than Anderson.
Could here DG yelling " and one!" from the bench
Mayo is bound, due, whatever to hit a shot. What a span of games it has been for him.
Anderson is really scuffling. Agree, would much prefer Jones over him in the lineup.
Wow Cincy can't handle the pressure defense. Just terrible passes.
Oh well for my Anderson theory, he comes in with one point lead after 8 straight points.

Nope, it's our game plan. ;D
I hate it, but it's our game plan.
I am worried. We have grabbed the lead too early in the game. ;)
We're handling their pressure fairly well. Like pretty much every team, nobody handles our pressure well. This might be the most effective it's been. Our guards and Crowder and just too effective in a full or 3/4 court defense to be sitting back.
at some point DJO may want to consider catching alley oop passes with two hands >:(
Uh OH. Wilson with 2 fouls and he sits. Lets see how they step up with the lead.

You know he is a freshmen, right?
Wilson should not be trying to take a charge there.
The flip-side of our current lack of size- more effective pressure, and easier to break pressure.
Crowd seems quiet on the ESPN U telecast
That was a drive Blue needs to take all the way.
Jones, YES!
These announcers are terrible.
Jones, AGAIN!
Wow.
Jamail Jones 2 threes
Quote from: Boone on February 11, 2012, 02:40:41 PM
Jones, YES!
Sometimes that is all it takes. 25 games, whatever. But his confidence now is off the charts.
Now Mayo needs one.
Hmmm... If jones can be a solid shooter, we could be pretty damn good.

Now all we need is Gardner to come back, and I honestly think we could win out in the regular season
The announcers on ESPNU are pretty awful.
JWill playing like he belongs out there
I dont get the crowd complaining. They have been pretty amped up on this run.

Don't let facts get in the way of complaining. This is a message board!!!
Hopefully jones learns a new post move this summer. Every time, hard dribble left, spin right for the jumper.
That stat has to be wrong. JC with 5 assists and 0 turnovers.
That was DJO's best move of the year. An NBA dribble drive scoop. Wow.

The TO's are wrong but I think he does have 5 dimes.
It's the chili.
MU had 9 steals in first half. That is great. So are the three turnovers.
Crowder and Wilson have 2 fouls each, so have to be careful in first part of second half.

Worst stat for us is rebounds. We have 6 more possessions but both teams have 33 shot attempts.
We just cant get conservative now. Keep pushing the tempo and coming right at them.

True, but considering we started in a 10-1 rebounding hole things have been better. But yes, if we focus on this we got the game most likely.
Spreading the court is the key, they don't seem willing to guard everyone
Rebounds are 20 to 15. 7 to 3 on offensive side.
Vander had 5 rebounds, matching Gates' total of 5.
Jae is not paying attention. The ESPN announcers said he would set a screen at the top for DJO ON the last shot of the half. Jae stayed in the corner. Announcers still called him setting the screen. Must have been watching a different game.

Hope Buzz keeps Jones in. This could be a huge confidence builder. This time of year, we need all hands on deck.

He will get minutes when Jae and Jamil have to sit. But hes def not "staying" in.
Crowder is not slitherly.
Watch the fouls guys....... Can't keep that up.
We are playing more to their pace right now, but our offense is just on so far.
The held ball made me think of it, but JWill's done a very nice job on Gates today. Gates has 5 and 6 right now, and if you had told me before the game he'd have a low double double anywhere up to 12 and 12 or so, I'd have taken it.
Quote from: HaywardsHeroes32 on February 11, 2012, 03:16:52 PM

Cincy's offense has been at free throw line in second half. 6 of their 10 points
UC making a run. We are flat.

Crowder picked up #3 and DJO went to bench also. That made no sense there and now Cincy is back in it.
8 point lead,we need the seniors in
We gotta start pushing the damn tempo
Jones looks lost. Bummer.
Nice. DJO!
WOW
Time for the pressure defense again. It's a waste our guards' talent having them sitting back in the half court. And they actually seem to foul less, so there's no drawback.
worst defense of the year since the second half has started. layup after layup. Need to go back to the trap or maybe a zone for a few possesions ... need some defense to finish this off.
I thought Cincy's run was primarily because of the easy guard penetration. The guys down low have been doing well enough, but they aren't going to be able to compete with Cincy's bigs with all those driving lanes.

Free throws guys. Come on, that was 3 points down the drain.
You can hear Crowder constantly saying "Gimme dat sh**" on TV.

No it wasnt. If DJO makes his initial ft it was 62-51(which is what the score ended up) and Jamil never shoots his 2 fts.
DJO is really stepping up!
Pressure defense is back. Open that bag of microwave popcorn.

But you are right still that going 1-3 at the line is not something we want.
Only four T.O.s
In all seriousness, does anyone remember when Mayo hit a 3?
Mayo has not hit a three pointer in last 6 games. He is 0 for 11. Man, I wish one goes in.
Great hustle on his miss though.
He's lost his mojo. He needs some chili!

It's been a while but the hustle off that missed 3 was awesome. Junior has had a couple big time hustle plays after mistakes as well. Thats why we are up big right now.
Man. Wilson is gonna be fun to watch for some time. He seems to get better every game.
What an awesome game to watch today, one of the best this year..
Hopefully that dunk gets Mayo going again.

Bump. Dude is getting more and more comfortable. He didn't make that last layup 6 weeks ago.

annnd they steal the ball!
MU looking sloppy and then a manly drive by Crowder. Nice.....

Good point. They are just kinda slow today.
I love it when we play so confident!

He will be leaving early for the NBA in two years.
Blue has worked on his ft's....based on recent results. If he can do the same with his jump shot........
W.
Must be the chili.
What a great game from National Marquette Day! LOVE it!
Nice win. Only bad thing was rebounding. 39 to 27, 18 to 7 on offensive side. But creating turnovers over rided that figure.
Now UCONN with Gardner and looking good.

It looked like Buzz was yelling at Devante. Can't imagine what he was saying.

Ya know what? I'd keep this line-up da rest of the season. Up tempo, pushin' it, takin' it to da hole, trappin, pressure d, etc.
Really, DG will slow it down too much. Besides, he doesn't look anywhere ready to contribute.

Good point, but maybe he can contribute 10 to 15 minutes. Everyone knows he is going to be "winded" by not playing or practicing, but MU will need the additional big body against UCONN with Drummond and Oriaki. Especially if Wilson or Crowder pick up fouls. We shall see how this thing plays out.

Eyeball test. The injury looked funky. He's still limping. 280 lb body. Odds are surgery time.
This line up is a lot of fun....right up to the point that fouls get called on Crowder and JWilson. Or the other team starts playing volleyball on the offensive boards.
He always kind of limped

Yeah, because knee sprains to really big guys have to heal in two weeks, or else "odds are" they somehow require surgery...unless it's gastric bypass surgery so there's less weight on it he just needs time to heal.
I heard two of our starters also have ingrown toenails and will have to have surgery. ::)

Davante probably has a brace on which will make him limp a little. Can;
't tell his health by watching him on the sidelines in street clothes
