And without that, all we're left with are Pomeroy and Kenpon rankings.
This is a discussion forum, so why can't we discuss? Certain topics are off limits? Even if they're discussed at nauseum on espn? Doesnt seem right.
As a grad of Marquette Journalism, I question what this board has to stand for.
Which topics do you feel the moderators are sweeping under the rug?

It seems someone's being cranky about having a poll removed from a thread they started.

I missed that. I think the mods have a pretty good sense of humor. Why else would there be a thread about people shoving bottle rockets up their bums?
They have great senses of humor. There are just topics that are going to create more trouble than they are worth for the mods who do this for free and for fun.
Start your own board.
I'm disgusted that a graduate of MU journalism referenced ESPN.
Not to go off on a tangent, but has anybody ever done an in-depth comparison between Kenpon and Pomeroy's rankings to see which is better?
Only the best threads start at 4am.
RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!

I'm disgusted that a graduate of MU journalism finished a sentence with a prepositon. :)
As a MUScoop poster, I question your sense of humor. That thread was far from high comedy.
Go read the final post of the other thread you started.

It had to be broadcast journalism. No self respecting writer would ever end a sentence in a preposition.

+1
I wonder if he/she writes for Bleacher Report?
Is this really going to be the topic of my first post? Yes, yes it is. Contrary to what many say, prepositions are an acceptable way to end a sentence in certain circumstances (usually to avoid sounding like a boob, excuse me, I mean breast). Having said that, "has to stand for"? What is THAT? That sounds like a product of BREC at MU or perhaps a Chinese content farm. Either way we lose. Well, except the Chinese. They always win...they always win (World War II notwithstanding).

I think you'll find the other members will be far more harsh than the mods, especially if you keep posting gems like this.

Sorry, but you are incorrect, sir. The "for" with which our thread starter ended his sentence is not functioning as a preposition, but as part of the infinitive phrase, "to stand for".
I live for the Gradgrindian discipline insisting on good grammar and punctuation,Teal included, on this board

Agreed. I think one of the humorless moderators should start a poll on this subject right away!
Did we wake up and morph into the Scout board?

Well, that's good news
So the only logical conclusion from this thread is that the mods do have a sense of humor and have managed to keep some of the more esoteric keyboard ninjas at bay for the good of the community.
Good to know we could all put our heads together and come to this conclusion 4 days and 30 some odd posts later. ::) ;)
