Would it be better 'pull' SU back toward MU with a loss (knowing that we still have a chance to beat G'town) or would it be better to have G'town with one more loss?
Hmmm.
After the ND game, I became convinced we wouldn't catch 'Cuse. Go Orange.

Amen. Chances are we're not catching Cuse. Go for second.
Are there tie-breakers for winning the conference or only seeding? If somehow we were to win out, looking at Syracuse's next 7, its easily fathomable they have 2 losses there. If there was tie-breakers and they effectively have a 3 game lead, I would agree, but a 2 game lead with this schedule isn't safe, especially if UConn were to suddenly figure out how to play.

I absolutely want Georgetown to win. We have a chance at beating them again. I doubt we will be able to catch Syracuse, but why would you not want at least a chance.

This.
I refuse to believe that there's no way of catching Syracuse.
CUSE...it would be nice to win the league but we will most likely lose another game or two. No way Cuse is losing 3-4 more, not now.
Hate to say it but i want an outright second at this point. rooting for Cuse and WVU. Also rooting for loserville and SFU to lose when they play.
I voted Syracuse in the other identical thread, so I'll say Georgetown in this one just to cover all my bases.
If they lost tonight, they would only have to lose one more to be tied with us. If I remember correctly the tie breakers are only for seeding in the big east tournament.
How can you as a fan root for 2nd place when there is still a chance at first? Everything as a fan (not logic) should be based on us winning out as we will be favored to do game by game. We are not in the "kind of an accomplishment" banner hanging regime anymore!
Gtown wins, doesn't matter, we still control our own destiny for 2nd place (assuming ND loss).
No expert on RPI and all the "good wins" science, but I would think we would want GU to be as high as possible when we play them. SU will be a forgiveable loss either way but it would really look like a good win if Georgetown is at the very top of the Beast with us.
(Just for fun and not taking a Georgetown win for granted)
THE MORE YOU LOOK AT IT IT IS REALLY TOUGH TO CALL...THE GOOD NEWS THO ..IS SOME ONE WILL LOSE!! :)
Absolutely rooting for WVU tho...leaving for the B12 or whatever, I will always root for Wisky, IU, and ND to go 0-31 and Depaul to lose 15-20 games a year.
Syracuse is going to crush Georgetown.
On a completely different note, at the beginning of the game they mentioned this being "A great rivalry" with some great footage from the 80's. Too bad it has to die in a year or two.
Really good game, with Syracuse winning in overtime. We remain alone in second, and pulling for a WVU win over Notre Dame to give us a 1 game lead over GT and 1.5 over ND, a ND win puts us only .5 up on them.
Great game; two outstanding teams. Too bad the rivalry is ending. A shame that football and TV contracts are driving the bus.
Cuse helped us out but ND giving WVU trouble and that is not good.
And with 8:50 to play in the 2nd half Pat Connaughton has zero points on 0-3 shooting from 3-point land. Figures.
