Was looking at the Big East standings and noticed the old C-USA members, sans DePaul, are doing well this year...
Marquette 9-3 (2nd)
Louisville 7-4 (5th)
Cincy 6-4 (tied for 6th)
South Florida 6-4 (tied for 6th)
Even if you include DePaul that is a average of 7th place overall. Now admittedly South Florida could fall back from their current position. Nevertheless, the old C-USA teams have held up okay on the b-ball end.
Think of where Cinci would be if Nancy Zimpher didn't blow up the Huggins era just to pad her own resume.
Should Memphis join, it would be a family reunion of sorts. Once all the new schools are in, 9 of the New Big East's 17 basketball schools would have been C-USA members at one time in the past 10 years.
