Title: I think it's safe to say

Jamil Wilson is improving. :o. The kids upside is unbelievable.   If he can develop a more consistent jumper, watch out!

Yeah he's the type of player that Marquette has needed for quite some time. A legit 6'8 who can run, jump, rebound, and shoot. He's going to be great.

Haha I was going to start a similar thread.  It's so refreshing to see where he is now after the rather slow start.  I can't even imagine how good he could be the next two years.

4-6 points in jumpers plus boards and the easy inside stuff is exactly what we need from his forward position; it's scary to think how complete this team might have been with otule and dede at full strength

He was really trying to learn his way on the court, early on.  He has done that now and man is he fun to watch.  I wish Otule were healthy and he could play his natural 3.  I give him credit, though, for becoming a 5 when MU needed one.

I think I said something a few weeks back that you can tell he is going to be a 10ppg player by the end of the season. Oh well

Yep.  I recall that.  I don't know that he reaches that average, but he has come on as you predicted.

Sounds strange, but I think he is playing better as a 5 than as a 3/4.

Even a broken watch is right twice a day.

For what it is worth, it looks like Blue is turning a corner too. I wish he didn't commit to a decision so early. The first possession of the second half, he had an opening for a lay up and dished it out. But for the last two games, he has hit some challenging layups. It is a really good sign.

I think he would have more rebounds and put backs coming in as a 3 with Otule (or Gardner) and Crowder manning the 5 and 4 spots.  He is awfully athletic and is starting to show that as a 5.  He is able to use that as a mismatch.  But think how he would be able to use his talents as a mismatch as a 3.

I like his game.  He seems to be getting more aggressive, which was always the concern for him.

Here's hoping there's LOTS of games to go this year, but I can't help but smile thinking about how good Jamil will be next season when we have some bigs out there with him.
