The Bulls, who are very good, have the 28th highest payroll??????  Paxon is one great GM.

I'd say the NY Knicks aren't getting a good return on their investment.

I don't follow the NBA that closely beyond Dwade, but if he is only going to be making $16mil in 4 years, there are a few players on that list who should be investigated for extortion.

Allen Houston (is he still playing?), Michael Finley, Brian Grant?  Dwade needs a new agent.

BTW, I cannot believe I just used the phrase, "only $16 mil"!

The NBA has a salary cap. 16 Mil is the most DWade can make. Youll notice LeBron and Melo are also making the same amount. They make most of their money through advertising

I think all the problems of the NBA can be summed up with the tidbit that Allan Houston is the second highest player and he works for ESPN. Not even in the league.

On another note, anyone else ever notice that these guys holdout for long term "security" in the 6 or 7 year deal and then by the end of year 3 they practically beg to be traded because their team sucks? The latest example is Jermaine O'Neal.

It is kind of funny that 6/16 playoff teams are in the bottom half (15/30) of the payroll and if you extend it to the bottom 17 half of the playoff teams (8) are included

Speaking of overpaid players...
Lots of dough, very few wins.  Sometimes GMs get in such a heated ego fest that they offer wayyyyy too much money just to land a guy from another team.  Makes me wish I was 7'...

Jalen Rose, Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis and Allen Houston made about $73 million - or $20 million more than the Bulls entire payroll - from the Knicks this year. I hope Isiah Thomas keeps his GM job in NY for a long, long time. The Bulls will need to boost their numbers to keep Deng, Gordon and Nocioni, but I think with a good run in the playoffs that Chairman Reinsdorf will be happy to reward these guys.

I assume Cuban gave Finley all that money? I always liked the way that he played even if he is overpaid now.I watched him play in H.S. and he let the game come to him as opposed to some of his showboating teammates like Boyce and Ford. They must have their mouths open when they see how well he did.
